  1. When you say "bad reviews", do you mean like feedback on YouTube videos? I'm just curious as I don't know much about his history.
  2. I bought one of these ages ago, and it was awful. The development was at a much more primitive stage than what FPGA has to offer today. The C64 core was the only core that really worked and still it had lots of issues, if I remember correct. You would be much better off with a MISTer or even getting a C64 mini. I'm curious though, are these still being sold somewhere? I assumed it was no longer supported.
  3. I've been eyeing these books, they look incredible. What will be the approximate price for both books shipped to the USA?
  4. Bill, The Flashback Collection for the Nintendo Switch seems to be out of stock at most major retailers (Amazon, Target). Any idea if there will be any more shipments?
  5. I had no idea Links was still supported, heck I didn't even know it ran on anything beyond Windows XP. This is so awesome - Thanks for the info!
  6. Thanks everyone for the great feedback! I also played some Links 386 and totally forgot about Bobcat being in there, so crazy! I am going to check out Pangya; I have never heard of that game. I did play quite a bit of Hot Shots and the sequel on the PSP and liked those quite a bit. I want to add another game I spent many many hours with, but its a mini golf game. It is called "Hole in One Miniature Golf" and I assume it was a pretty rare title. It was the first game that had mouse controls. I think it was very unique for the time but something you see a lot now with touch controls.
  7. While I don't particularly like real-life golf, I have always had a lot of fun playing golf on the many consoles and computers I have owned. PGA Golf on Intellivision was the first golf game I really enjoyed, and with that game I learned the rules and how to use the various clubs (woods, irons, wedges). I haven't played it in over 30 years, so I wonder how it holds up. My friend had the 2600 Golf cartridge and thought it had a very weird aiming mechanic. I still like the blocky graphics but could never get the hang of that one. I wish that one would have been better. I remember being amazed at Leaderboard and World Class Leaderboard on the C64, but with the screen having to redraw after every shot, it resulted in a very slow game. I think the golf games I put the most time into was on the Amiga computer, Jack Nicklaus Unlimited Golf and Signature Edition. Both games had a course designer and there were some really talented people that would create real-life courses and upload them to various online services (I remember downloading many from GEnie and Prodigy). I put tons of hours into these games, and they remain my favorites to this day. I have been looking around for some other titles to see what I have missed. I recently tried Mean 18 on the 7800 and was really surprised how well it played. Really good title and was actually a precursor to the Nicklaus games (all from Accolade). I am curious what golf games you have fond memories of? I'm particularly interested if there are any obscure titles that I may have missed.
  8. I live about an hour from FunSpot, so I can't really comment on accommodations. There are hotels nearby but most of the places are small private spots by the lake. I would imagine they fill up quickly so I'd check into it before the warm weather comes. One thing to note: make sure you don't plan a trip around Laconia Bike Week. The whole area becomes a zoo for an entire week (or more). The Weirs Beach state park is within a 1/4 mile of FunSpot, so if your family isn't interested in the arcade there is that. As VectorGamer mentioned, there is a boat called the "Mount Washington" which does small tours during the day and seems pretty popular. Not a ton of restaurants really. I mean, there are some but you might have to drive to nearby towns. Also take some time and visit the White Mountain region. You would be close by and there are tons of great things to see and do.
  9. I'm selling my original Xbox console if anyone is interested: https://www.ebay.com/itm/263482013892?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  10. "Rogers’s record on the classic Atari arcade game Centipede, for example, had been listed on the Twin Galaxies site as being 65,000,000. The second-highest score, 58,078, barely comes close. (As of Monday afternoon, those rankings were adjusted after Rogers’s scores were removed.)" I don't follow TG at all, but how could crazy scores like Centipede not be questioned? From what I understand, there were many like this. A super high score well above the 2nd ranking, no evidence, and a "round number" ... how could anyone take this seriously?
  11. I use it often, it has such a nice looking (and easy to use) interface. I think you will like it.
  12. Just curious, was there going to be a final tally for this?
  13. I remember buying a stack of Supercharger games at Toys R Us right after the "crash" for like $2 each. I couldn't have been happier. Some of the games like Phaser Patrol, Mindmaster and DragonStomper were amazing! I had them all except Frogger and Rabbit Transit.
  14. This is what I was looking at, I guess it must be for the 8-bit version maybe? Sorry for the confusion. https://ia600304.us.archive.org/33/items/agm_River_Raid/River_Raid.pdf
