I hear Ferg over at the 2600 Game by Game podcast is going to tackle Cosmic Avenger for the 2600 soon. Was a prototype found? I hadn't heard news of this, and a quick search of Atari Age doesn't turn up info that one was released.
Finally got the CHD file for the classic Atari laserdisc game Firefox.
Something I don't remember from the game back in the early days is that the game tells you that by flying at ground level you can uncover "secret bases" I did some googling, and cannot find info on these. Anyone have any ideas on these and how to get them?
I did some googlin' (Every day I'm Googling,) and I cannot find a list of games that do not work on the ATGames Genesis Ultimate Portable, so let's start one here.
We'll use this first post to create the list.
When listing a rom that doesn't work, give the name and date of the rom. We can compare notes, and possibly discover a working rom. This thread is not for uploading roms or where to find them, but with a proper date and name, working roms should be easy to google.
So far the ones I've encountered that don't work...
EDIT: Ditched the file name. Including the problem observed. Added a few games
SMT = Sega Multi Tap EAMT = EA Multi - Tap
BB - Battery Backup
Super Bubble Bobble - buzzing sound, won't start Lotus Turbo Challenge - Converted to .bin. Plays but with buzzing noise and some graphical glitching.
I must not be using the search feature correctly, but that's another issue.
Anyway, I know that several 5200 titles have been converted to 8-bit like Qix, and I was wondering is there anyplace to purchase these? I thought the Atariage store would have these, but I'm not seeing them.
I was thinking about ET and it's status as "worst game ever" (it's not,) and something occurred to me.
There are no pits in the movie. There is a scene where ET is found in a ditch, but no pits. Falling into the pits is probably the biggest complaint about the game. My idea (and I'd hack this if I could,) is to get rid of the pits and replace them with trees that the parts are hidden behind. Now the game is more faithful to the movie, and the most frustrating element of the game has been corrected. Now you'd have to adjust other gameplay components to make the challenge at about the same level (starting energy I think) and you've got a better, more playable game.
