  1. Update for anyone wondering if they should order from this company at this time: I haven't heard anything from them since ordering over three weeks ago. Two days ago I made an inquiry via their online "Contact us" link and direct email. Have not received a response yet. Hmmm I will post here if/when something changes.
  2. I successfully used this discount code today for 10% off. BCORPBOOKS10
  3. "Electric Dreams" Haven't seen this movie in decades. I fell in love with Virginia Madsen when I first saw it BITD as a youngster. It showed up in my YouTube feed last night. Couldn't stop myself from watching it immediately. Music, computers, and Virgina Madsen, make the perfect movie. LOL However, you'll see a relevant treat in the background of the scene at ~6:33.
  4. Anyone buy the print version? What do you think?
  5. Well I ordered 2 controllers. I was only going to get one, to see how I like it, but the shipping cost made me go for 2 instead. Hopefully, the delivery process will go smoothly. 🤞
  6. Something tells me there's an interesting story behind that. Were they originally Atari's homegrown hardware that was sold/licensed away to GameMate 2? Or Did Atari have some sort of exclusive branding deal with GameMate 2 that expired, allowing them to sell them under their own name? Seems to be the same box with different graphics. Details probably lost to history. No wait! Google brought me right back to AtariAge with the answers. Interesting stuff.
  7. Thank you for the reply. Just seems there are some recent posts from people complaining about items never arriving, or incorrect items, etc. I'll keep an eye out, and hold off until the new batch is actually available.
  8. I respectfully disagree. While perhaps grammatically correct as written, it doesn't convey the intended meaning. When the emphasis is taken into account, the context suggests that the word "both" is missing. Here's a verbatim transcription of what he actually says in the game (including actual emphasis): I am truly not knocking this awesome game, but I will continue to attack the wicked Misery Dragon, who calls me an idiot, jerk, AND a moron. (I accept the jerk label, because, as written, I CAN fix everything solo, so I MUST be a jerk. )
  9. I absolutely LOVE this game. Someday, I hope to get the good ending by finding someone willing to play through with me. Until then, I have to live with getting the ending that calls me an idiot and a moron. LOL However, I think it's fair to callout the Misery Dragon as a bit of an idiot himself, for the way he screws up the sentence shown in the screenshot above. He should have said "You BOTH were invited on this exclusive trip..." So, it appears, I get the last laugh... for now, Misspoken Misery Dragon. Muhahaha 😛
  10. I could really use one of these controllers, but it sounds like the website is not (or at least no longer) reputable?
  11. I'm no expert, either. However, according to Wikipedia, Atari was developing the game under the title "Agent X", before the movie tie-in deal was reached. Perhaps Atari was granted indefinite rights to the name. Who knows? I mean seriously, WHO?! So, if Cloak & Dagger cannot be used, then it seems "Agent X" would be perfect.
  12. Not to go too far off topic, but they would likely need a different name, since any movie license deal has likely been long expired. Stealth & Blade Trench coats & Bayonets Spy Cat & Agent Mouse Spy vs Mole Recover the stolen Plans Bombs & Elevators Mystery & Intrigue
  13. A quick and easy way to get the music back when using save states, is to hold down the select button and force the timer to expire. After you die, the current screen will restart with music. I haven't noticed any popping. Just finished playing through to the end for the second time (first time using GD). Love this game! Now that we can use save states, I'll try to get my brother to play the 2 player game with me. We can save our progress and resume where we left off whenever he visits again.
  14. I think what you have done is great, particularly sharing and making it open source! Mapping "up" to the start-button is indeed ingenious for the particulars of the 7800 library! My Genesis controller is new from Amazon. The "officially licensed" phrase used in the product description is probably just a fancy euphemism for "Szechuan Specials" . However, it feels quite nice in the hands. Atari is re-releasing the "original" 7800 gamepads, but of course, lacking the "start is up" and other enhancements of your design. I look forward to seeing future updates on your controllers. Don't be shy with any custom decals you make to hide their "Nintendo-ness".
  15. Pretty cool and industrious! I'm pretty much sticking with the Mega7800 and Genesis 6 button gamepads these days, but I did buy a couple NES style pads from RetroGameboyz.com years ago. (They no longer offer the woodgrain style I bought) How would you say yours compare?
