  1. I'm selling a used, complete copy of Bayonetta for the PS3: http://www.gamegavel.com/item.cgi?show_item=0000252069 It's the JP version, but it works in all PS3 consoles. The game is in complete English, making it completely similar to the US release. The case and manual are in Japanese though.
  2. I'm not saying this because MJ just died, but the image itself wasn't particularly funny. It's also a piss poor excuse to leave this thread open in the forum just because its used in the 2600 cart template to somehow make it relevant to classing gaming. I take it trolling is allowed at AA as well.
  3. I'm at 176 A2600 carts now, with 7 Starpath cassettes.
  4. Also...I think I'm very much in the minority, but I like the Bomb games. Assault and Wall Defender especially. Stronghold is nice too. Just fired that up on Stella.
  5. Not for me. I've developed a system for myself to ensure I play every single game I've bought. For the older games that take high scores, I play two games for four days, 20 minutes each, while trying to get a good high score. Switch with new games, repeat. Eventually I'll hit a point where I will play a game I've already played and try to beat my established high score - there's the replay factor. For games that have an ending, I put them into my schedule to play some day. When I start playing them, I have to finish them or else I can't move on to other games. All games I own must be played on the original console, not emulation. So...yeah. I make sure I get some use out of the things I collect
  6. Well, I slammed the money down. I bought a number of R5's and R6's in the past week: - HERO - Tapper (just won the auction today) - Spacemaster X-7 - Ram-It - Jawbreaker - Laser Gates - Survival Run - Threshold - Snoopy Red Baron - Star Wars Arcade Hoping to get Subterranea and perhaps Gremlins sometime. I'll look out for Room of Doom and Death Trap, too. Cakewalk, Rescue Terra I and other extremely rare games are probably out of reach.
  7. Can I get a price check on Subterranea and Tapper by chance? Loose carts.
  8. Emulation is convenient, cheaper (everyone who admits using emulation is also admitting they're using roms/cd images/etc, which are free), and extremely easy to set up and use. I use it for some games here and there. However, owning the games/consoles and owning a file on a computer are two entirely different things: owning the games/consoles are valuable, while owning a file isn't. I'm not talking about value in terms of money (though it does count), but value in terms of being a gamer and having the collection. There's zero satisfaction for me in using emulation compared to having my own collection of games. What closed-minded people like Keatah don't realize is that collections do, in fact, mean something to people. It's only junk if it means nothing to the person who owns it, and if that were the case, to hell with it. Otherwise, I'll enjoy having, building, and playing my collection, because doing so makes the gamer in me content. The flaws in owning games/consoles as opposed to emulation, like the space it takes, video output, parts breaking down, electrical usage and whatnot? All a part of being a gamer. Emulation is "perfect"; games/consoles aren't, but I'm happy with the flaws. Can't understand why? You probably never will. People mentioned that one of the big things is the experience of getting the games, putting them in the consoles, running them on a 20 year old TV, and all that. While there's joy in that for me as well, as I've already said, it's really the satisfaction being able to own the physical versions of these games or consoles that does it for me.
  9. 2600: 142, not including duplicates/label variations. Cheap commons, some worn labels, carts only. Everything else.. 5200: 15-20 7800: 10+ Channel F: 5 Astrocade: 8 Intellivision: 25 Colecovision: 20+ Ti-99: 10+ NES: 40+ SNES: 10+ Jaguar: 4
  10. What are some of your favorite rarer or rarest 2600 games? I'm thinking rarity above at least 5 or 6 - games that can be pretty hard to come by, and they come expensive. Due to my budget, I probably will never be able to slam down the big bucks on some of those rarer Atari 2600 games. My collection ranges from rarity 1-4, with a handful of 5's, and all of them are carts only. $10 per cart is the limit. And, since I live nowhere special, I probably wouldn't find higher rarity games through flea markets/thrift stores. However, that doesn't mean I'm not interested in the rarer games. One day I might make the plunge, so it'd be nice to know about some of those fun but rare games.
