  1. I don't know if this was mentioned somewhere, but I was thinking that in the past years, some TheC64 Mini and A500 Mini users created little keyboards so they could install them in these computers, in order to have a working (although difficult to use) keyboard. They are quite complicated, with micro switches and keycaps taken from cutting the original false keyboards and adapting them to the switches. In this case, wouldn't it be a much easier thing to create? Some kind of membrane keypad, an arduino board or similar to interface it with an USB port from inside... and we get something similar in size as the ZX81. It would be great having a working keyboard on this little beauty.
  2. I love the idea of this mini Atari 400. But why the yellowed case color? It's supposed to be light grey...
  3. I have the box with the misprint too, I didn't notice until now! About the game, I almost got to the 4th level yesterday! It's really challenging, but I love it!
  4. I just love this console. The looks, the smell, the dose of nostalgia when I opened the box for the first time... So far my boy and I are enjoying it a lot. OK, there are issues, specially here in PAL land... but when I turn it on and see the message v1.00, then I think it's a matter of time everything will be fixed and will run just fine. Way to go Atari, what a sweet little machine!
  5. Now I get it 🙂 I was understanding that when a 50Hz cart was inserted, the output was also changed to 50Hz. I'm testing this on a HDMI monitor. I can see it says the input is a 60Hz one. I suppose it could accept a 50Hz input... I *think* when I plugged my TheC64 in PAL mode, this monitor was working in 50Hz, but I should confirm this. It would be great if the 2600+ could output a 50Hz signal, by auto detecting or maybe by selecting it with a switch combination, for example. Thanks for your reply!
  6. That's weird, because some PAL games go smooth... So I think some of them as detected as PAL, and others not. In the post "Verified Atari 2600+ FAQ - WIP" they say this: Anyway I did a test - I recorded how Breakout works from the cart that came with the paddle set, and then I plugged my PAL Breakout cartridge. The second one clearly shows lots of jerkiness in the movement of the ball and racket. I hope PAL mode will be upgraded in a future firmware update. Please, ignore the annoying clock in the background 😅
  7. I got my 2600+ today. I'm located in Spain, so my whole collection of 3 shoe boxes full of cartridges are PAL (all but one, I have an NTSC Pitfall II... but never mind that, it can't be used anyway). Emulation works fine - no lag, great colors, etc, but when I plug my JawBreaker or H.E.R.O. games I notice a little low frame rate. It's not too low, but really noticeable. Things move around with little jumps on the screen. So far, I could only find this issue with these two games (Still didn't try out every game I own). I compared side by side with my old light-sixer (game loaded from the Harmony cart) how the character from H.E.R.O. moves around and the issue is clearly there. Quite annoying. Just to compare, Pitfall works fine. I chose to compare H.E.R.O. with this one because it's too from Activision, and the character runs in a similar way. No problem with this one, that little guy runs smoothly. Did you guys noticed this too?
  8. I'm afraid if we get used to this feature, it would become more probable to destroy an old 2600 by accident... I know myself, and I'm pretty sure it would happen to me.
  9. I know, but I wasn't talking about compatibility but availability of new products.
  10. Sold out, and the rest of the "collectors" carts from their shop are "USA Exclusive". I preordered an Atari 2600+, but sometimes I feel like cancelling this preorder when I see here Atari wants to do nothing for people outside USA
  11. I don't have Twitter too, but it doesn't mean one can't read what is posted on their address. It can even be embedded here 🙂
  12. Humm no. It did say that from the beginning. It's even mentioned on the 2nd and 5th message of this thread.
  13. Solved! As you guys said, the issue was with the SD card. I took a new one, formatted and load it with many PDM files. Now everything works fine! I think I'm going to use a separated card for this purpose and another for the software. Thanks everybody!!
  14. Thanks, I read that post before and selected all those options. Stereo, mono, all the possible combinations... no luck. What I was looking for is some post describing the weird playback issue I get, but so far I found nothing mentioned. Thanks! So far I only tried the converter from the page from the link. Is there any other utility for this purpose? Weird thing is the only file that worked was "West End Blues" (Louis Armstrong) and now I tried some others from the same album. They do work well. But nothing else, no other artist... I think the AVGCart like the oldies! BTW, every file I tried played well on the preview from the converter page. They fail only on my Atari computers..
  15. First of all, sorry if this issue was mentioned before. I was doing a search and couldn't find this specific problem I'm having. I didn't want it to be in the AVGCart topic as this is a particular problem I'm having. Yesterday I got my new AVGCart. First thing I did was update the firmware, and create a SD card with everything I want inside, plus the firmware files on the root to use those extra features this cart offers. So far everything file-related work fine (Atari XEX, ATR, CAS, CAR, etc). But today I wanted to create some PDM files and followed the instructions from this link: De Re AVGCART – Atari 8Bit I'm supposed to go to this page: FujiConvert (eclsoft.com) and select IDE Player. Nothing else, right? PDM/MONO/PAL look ok to me. I loaded some mp3, wav and m4a audios and converted them... but only one of them works fine (it was an m4a by the way). All the others, and they are A LOT, like 20 other files were converted but they don't play right. I made a video so you can see what I get. I tried the AVGCart on a 65XE (128KB RAM) and a 800XL with the Ultimate 1MB. Same result in both. I'm completely new to this cartridge, and know nothing about PDM files. Any idea about what's going on here?
