  1. Okay, thank you, this seems easier than I feared. I’ve got an IDE to USB, but unsure whether the drive is 40 or 44 pin. Now to find where I’ve hidden the adapter.
  2. By the way, does anyone know of a good way to backup the IDE hard drive? I’m thinking about converting it to CF.
  3. Right, it’s referencing Deutsch Marks, so that was a while ago. I do know that IDE Plus v2 is still available from Simius—I just ordered one.
  4. Ah… you are right. I checked the listing, it indeed came from Bratislava. Apologies!
  5. Thanks BillC. Since this is from Poland, I think the likely suspect is the first on your list. I might dump the ROM to take a look.
  6. Desiring a PAL machine, I bought this heavily modded 800XL from Poland. Some really cool things inside, including a memory expansion and stereo Pokey. What I find most interesting is this hand soldered IDE interface (PBI), 40 MB drive, running BW-DOS 1.3 Im guessing that the original owner created the interface based off of existing plans (as opposed to it being a prototype). Does anyone know of DIY plans out there to cobble together a board like this?
  7. Well curiosity got the better of me and I bought it. I’ll report back on the mods if anyone is interested in hearing.
  8. I saw this recent listing. Does anyone know what this mod is? Lots of point to point wiring: https://www.ebay.com/itm/354957248850?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=f4BGGikyRtC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=f1I54iRaQtm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  9. Thread necromancy. But just to close the loop. As with Baldrick, I sourced an IWM from a cheap Mac Plus Board I got from eBay. Desoldering was tense, but the transplant was a success. Fortunately the remnants of the Mac Plus board were claimed from the free table of the 2023 Indy Vintage Computer Expo. Pay it forward.
  10. I am auctioning my 576NUC+ on eBay. Check it out! https://www.ebay.com/itm/394298314378?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=f1I54iRaQtm&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=f1I54iRaQtm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  11. I bought a for parts/not working IIc that does run but won’t do disk operations. So after debugging, cleaning the drive, checking voltages, RAM, testing with a Floppy Emu, I’ve come to the conclusion that the IIc likely has a bad IWM. When I removed the board to inspect the underside, I found a note confirming my suspicion (picture attached). I LOLed but also was a little miffed that this message wasn’t put on the outside of the case instead of hidden underneath the board. Everything I’ve read indicates that the IWM chip is unobtainium short of harvesting from another source. Is that still the case, or has anyone created an FPGA IWM or unearthed a mystical warehouse with boxes of integrated Woz machines?
  12. Oops, I thought I had. Here is the official link to purchase the files: https://www.threeding.com/3d-printing-models/mister-retro-wedge-case-hex-base Here is a great video on the subject:
  13. I just wrapped up the 3D printing and assembly. I love this case, and the STL’s are a steal at the current price. Thank you Lee for this design! As you can see I closely modeled the color scheme of the original design, mostly because I found the black, gray, orange keyboard on sale. It evokes the Falcon030 imho.
