  1. This guy is a fag.

  2. Hi! I kinda miss you! you should email me!

  3. I don't generally care for online gaming...but the best thing about Halo 2 is playing it on Live.
  4. Weird, it seems to work ok for Figgler? That's right, he has the same viewpoint as you. Ok then, I apologize.
  5. Sure, you know that. But you're talking about people who are buying an HDTV to get a better quality picture in general, so it's obviously important to alot of people... I don't hold Atari collectors in low regard, at one point, I did marry one of you Surely you can admit that the serious collectors/gamers on this site are somewhat different than your mainstream gamers. That seems like a given.
  6. Cause no one sees clearly except you right? Get over yourself for chrisake. You intentionally started this thread with the explicit purpose of making it personal, biased and to call people out. Spouting off about how Nintendo fucked you over yet again and how MS has coddled and fulfilled your wildest dreams. All this is fine really, because I expect such slanted dribble from you, it's the backpeddling that makes me wretch. Oh wait no.. you're just trying to make some general points is all. No need to get all defensive people, really. Sheesh, fanboys these days... Whatever, either you're an instigator or a poor communicator and either way you slice it, you're a waste of everyone's time. 874053[/snapback] Are you from Boston?
  7. That's precisely what I'm trying to explain. It's irrelevant whether or not you like HDTV or if you're ever planning on buying an HDTV. For most consumers, they want the latest technology, they want the best they can get. Starscream posted the numbers of HD users already and it's not even quite the industry standard yet. So while you and the other Atari croonies may not be interested in HDTV, it's obvious that it's catching on with the rest of consumers. There's two types of people we're talking about here. There's some people that gasp at the idea of paying $50 for a video game. They'll wait 4 months just to grab it off the bargain bin. They'll buy most of their games from eBay to save money. They get hard on's going to thrift stores finding junk for next to nothing. On the other hand, you've got people that buy into the latest and greatest hype. These are the people that spend $$ on video games. There's alot more of these consumers than the bargain consumers, in this industry at least. If you are a gaming company, which one of these groups of people do you listen to? It's alot like the computer industry. It's all about mhz, ghz, etc. People are constantly upgrading their computers to utilize their computers to the max. CD-RW proved to be very sucessful. It's everywhere you look now. Could you imagine a computer company coming out with a new computer that you couldn't even burn cd's on? Why would they not make that an option when they've seen that's the way the consumers are going these days? So, maybe you're smart enough to not buy into the hype, but the general public obviously is not. Ok, I'm done.
  8. If I didn't care what anyone else thought, I wouldn't be here wasting my time. It's not worth talking to people such as yourself Sega who is so wrapped up in being loyal to a company that could give a rats ass about you that they can't even recognize any faults of the company. You should be a mac user, we're all like that. JB has listed some decent games there, but the majority of them are not new innovative games, they're rehashes of pre-existing games. Sure, most people are ok with Mario, F-zero, Resident Evil, and Metroid, but apart from those that Nintendo keeps milking for all their worth, what else do you get? Sure, it's the same that M$ is doing with Halo, Rockstar is doing with GTA, but at least when you get bored with those, adults have other games to choose from. This is really kind of going off topic. If you like playing the same old thing again and paying for it time after time, that's certainly your business. However, Nintendo, by not allowing their customers to utilize the system as much as current technology allows (such as a DECENT online support, HD-ready etc), is preventing developers from getting involved in making games for their system. Which in turn, gives you less games to choose from. While to you guys, who could care less about technology actually advancing, this is fine...the majority of the gaming world does not share this sentiment. Seriously, come over to the dark side and be a mac fanboy.
  9. The backwards compatibility is definitely a huge plus and always has been with Nintendo. That's one of the reasons they can upgrade their gameboys every other year and still sell a huge number of them. I don't have an HDTV either. I really have no desire to get one as I spend very little time in front of the tv other than to watch baseball (baseball season puts the rest of my life on the back burner). I'm not going to buy an HDTV to watch baseball. Unlike alot of people here, the picture quality of a video game in HD versus analog means nothing to me. I do however realize that it is important to alot of people, it is the future. I am planning on buying a new tv very soon, simply because I've had a 55 inch tv in my house for the past few months and I'm moving out of it this weekend and I can't see how I can possibly go back to watching a 32 tv...In big screens I'll probably have no choice but to get an HDTV. So, 2 weeks from now I may be back here preaching how important it is to have an HDTV because the picture quality is so much better
  10. Please, I work at Apple...to suggest that I have any good feelings towards Bill Gates or Microsoft is crazy. Maybe it's all a little more clear to me because I don't spend the majority of my time playing video games anymore. When I did, I was right here with you spouting off that Nintendo was the greatest on earth. Nintendo gives you the opportunity to buy a bunch of accessories that you'll never use in hopes that it will make you feel like you have more options to work with. The accessories they "provide" are subpar to anything else out there. I loved my Gamecube for a while. But after months and months of searching for new games to play and finding nothing but new mario hashes and Mary Kate & Ashley games, I had to realize that Nintendo just wasn't the best choice for my money anymore. I have a hard time believing that any grown man could say with a straight face, that Nintendo is their preferred gaming console. I also realize that most of you are Atari zealots, or else you wouldn't be here. So maybe the latest and greatest technology gets under your skin. But this is modern gaming we're talking about here. HD is the next big thing, if not the current big thing. Nintendo is falling considerably behind, you're not going to be able to defend them much longer..
  11. Whether or not you are too cheap to upgrade to HDTV has little to do with how stupid of Nintendo this is. HDTV is becoming the industry standard, you would be hard pressed even now to go into an electronics store and not find that the majority of tv's for sale these days are HD ready. When your woodgrain tv you have that's probably from 1980 and that matches your Atari 2600 dies, you will most likely be suckered into buying an HDTV, not only because that's mostly what they'll be selling, but because the prices are coming down to regular analog tv prices. I like Nintendo as much as the next person, but honestly they take advantage of you. You are the same people that complain about the cost of consoles, games, tv's, etc...yet you've probably paid for Mario 20 times over just beause Nintendo upgrades something in the game. It's ok to admit that Nintendo fooled you into buying 8 different versions of a Mario game, I did the same thing. It's ok to admit that game developers for players over the age of 15 just simply aren't interested in making games for Nintendo. If Nintendo isn't going to utilize all of the technology out there to make their gaming system do the most that it can do, then why would developers want to have their name on the line? Why wouldn't they go with a company/system that impresses people? It's ok to admit that after the Gamecube and what's come out so far in regards to the Revolution that Nintendo has no interest in giving gamers all they can for their money. It really is ok to admit that at this point in time, Nintendo has very little to offer. It will make you look alot less foolish than continually defending them..
  12. Ok, now I see. "Reply" is used to quote, "Add Reply" is used to reply without quoting, and "Fast Reply" gives you a quick box. Too many replies!
  13. between "Fast Reply" and just the regular "Add Reply"?
