  1. I really hope you will be able to see more, soon, as there is much more to it. The process of review and the timelines of the conferences add a lot of delay though, sorry about that.
  2. Hi! Thank you all very much for the participation in our survey. We have managed to publish the first, very preliminary results of the first part of the study on one of the conferences, two more papers, much more content-packed, are ready and in the process of review. The one that had been published in available in open access here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/376521535_Preserving_the_Artifacts_of_the_Early_Digital_Era_A_Study_of_What_Why_and_How I will keep you updated on the further developments. Best regards!
  3. Thank you so much! Every survey filled means a lot!
  4. I would like to thank all the persons that dedicated 15 minutes of their life to fill out the survey. It is great! It is very important to me to get various perspectives. I have most of my responses now from the Eastern Bloc, which is to be expected, as this is "my bubble", but this is only one way of seeing things. However, if you can spare 15 minutes of your time and help me get out of my bubble, I'd really appreciate that. If can reach people in your social bubbles, or even outside them, to participate in my study, that is even better. If so, please feel free to use and distribute the link to the survey: https://sprw.io/stt-bmmGLDBBiDFK3mESBXRVr5 It should work fine on most browsers, both desktop and mobile. Thank you very much!
  5. Everything that I have for that project is on the github repo. There is no ROM per se, as this is more of a proof of concept than an actual product. I've had that plan, that it will be just a start for some major refactor and the things will just snowball from there, but well, life happened. In the repo there are three ATR images, and the working demo is on XEUX.ATR.
  6. If the browser window is too small there might be some rows hidden to be scrolled down. Please try to scroll with the cursor in the middle of the screen, on the actual rows, maybe it will help. I've tried adjusting the number of questions so that it will not happen for most of the time, but the survey suite is not perfect, sorry about that. -- mg
  7. Hi! I'm lurking here for quite some time, with some minimal activity, so I suppose it would be good to properly introduce myself. My name is Maciej, on the Polish atari scene going by the nick Krap. I use 8-bit Atari since 1988, mostly as a user, and archivist of the old software, especially the cassettes. I'm pursuing my PhD on the subject of the preservation of the artefacts of the early digital era, and it would be a great privilege to include you in the survey I'm doing regarding the topic. Poland had a very strong 8-bit Atari presence in home market back in the days, and for much longer it might be anticipated, mainly due to the iron curtain and the geopolitical situation, so our perspective is a little bit biased. I would love to add many different perspectives to the pot, hence my post here. If you could spare 10 to 15 minutes of your time to participate in the survey I've linked below, it would mean a lot to me. https://sprw.io/stt-bmmGLDBBiDFK3mESBXRVr5 Thank you in advance! -- maciej grzeszczuk (krap)
  8. Yeah, sorry about the delay. 17 years, who would have thought.
  9. I'm a new ATR-8000 user and I'm struggling with getting CP/M to work with Gotek. I'm able to get to ATRMON, and when trying to 'B', I'm always getting 'ERR 80'. I've experimented with pretty much every setup of jumpers on Gotek side (FF software), I've used some images I've found in the relevant ATR-8000 threads (that were confirmed working), but no success so far. The green led on Gotek lights up for a moment when I'm trying to boot, but then always ERR 80. I've checked with the regular cable (as in the manual), I've tried with the roll-over (the Gotek stopped reacting for commands with LED, so this was branch was eliminated and I got back to a straight cable). I've checked with 'shugart', 'ibmpc' and jumper-select CFG file settings, and I'm pretty much out of ideas now. Have anyone encountered such problems? Do you have any ideas on how to proceed to further debug? Thanks in advance!
  10. 1 soundtrack edition for Poland please. I will also be at Forever.
  11. Hi, Does anyone have the Atari PC4 SCSI version, or at least know, what SCSI interface was included in the set? I'm trying to rebuild the PC4, and I noticed that the BIOS I have has the SCSI support. If would be great to add a compatible controller card. Attaching relevant pictures of the BIOS chips and the motherboard revision.
  12. Problem solved - it was the oscillator siting under the power supply. The seating was loose and at least one leg was not having contact. After reseating it started ok.
  13. Yes, I've checked in the manual. It is 'clock error'. But I guess even with the battery it should proceed. Maybe?
  14. Hi, I'm trying to reanimate a REV 1.0 PC4, motherboard C103524-001, and I'm getting 4 beeps on the boot up, no video at all. The motherboard is clean, however the case has some acid stains, so I expect there was a battery problem here some time ago. J35 is not connected to anything. I've browsed through the French manual that is available online, but no information on further debugging than the 4 beeps mean real time clock problem. I've tried to connect CR2032 to J35, with no success though. Do you have any more detailed reference on the motherboard and the jumpers/pinout? What kind of battery should be connected and to what pins exactly? Any ideas on how to proceed further?
