  1. This game is making me sleepy... x_x;;; My first score for this week's HSC is 113,140.
  2. For some reason, I don't like this game. I mean, as far as Atari 2600 games go, it's pretty decent, but there's just something about it that doesn't agree with me... I think it's the controls... Anyways, my score is 62,168. I might make another attempt if I have the time.
  3. This game could've spent some more time in testing... x_x; Nevertheless, after a bunch of brief attempts I managed to squeeze out one decent score of 23,200.
  4. I have rolled the score counter! ^_^ ...incidentally, I rolled the level counter at the same time, though it seems to keep track of the levels properly. After level 0, heading into level 1, the enemies were the same tough enemies as before. I was getting really nervous as I got near the end for two reasons. One: The only game I've rolled the score counter on until now is Asteroids for the 2600. And Two: There was a moment during this in the 800,000 range where one more death and I would've been done for. My secret to success was to move left and right as little as possible and to concentrate on up and down movement. Once all the enemies were blue I would start each level hovering as best as I could at the top of the screen to take out the top two enemies, then would find a "sweet-spot", depending on the platforms, where it would be easiest to predict how the lower enemies would come up to reach me. The egg levels were also easy once I noticed that they were the same patterns every time.
  5. *questions PressureCooker's sanity for triple-posting* o_O Well, I'm presently rendering my speedrun for the PC version of Mega Man and I must say, even though it's not a perfect attempt, I still manage to beat the entire game in roughly 15 minutes... which means not only is it the worst Mega Man game ever, it's also the shortest, and considering how bad the game is, that should be considered a redeeming quality. XD It should be uploaded and online by tomorrow morning in case anyone's interested.
  6. I have both an SMS and Model-1 Genesis, and when I decided it was time to ditch RF with all of my consoles I found out quite easily that the Model-1 Genesis A/V cables are compatable with the SMS and vice versa, so I simply bought two, one for the SMS, one for the Genesis. If you have a newer model Genesis though, then that isn't going to work. You can't simply go to a Radio Shack or anything because the connection on the SMS end of things is propietary. (Common with most video game systems. Only one I can think of at the moment that has standard A/V connections is the NES.)
  7. This is one of those games I could easily become an expert at but don't really like for some reason. *shrugs* My first two games worth were both 30,000-something. My third game saw my score shoot up to: 138,050 I have no doubts that I can get that score a lot higher... the question is how much higher...
  8. Glitches that don't affect gameplay and only last for a single frame aren't really worth getting mad at. It's possibly just the way more advanced GB systems handle sprite table changes and such with older GB cartridges. Since the GBC and GBA are faster than the original GB. Here I was thinking it was impacting the gameplay, and a single frame like that in Donkey Kong isn't a full second, it's more like 1/60th of a second.
  9. I have both Super Mario Land 2 and Qix for the GB and have no problems playing it on my GBA SP. In fact, I've encountered no graphical issues with ANY of my GB and GBC games on my GBA SP, and I have close to 30 such games. I recommend you try cleaning the contacts on the carts. The GBA SP is pretty resistant to the effects of dust and debris, but it's not invulnerable. You may also want to clean the system contacts, though that takes a bit more effort without a specialized cleaning kit.
  10. When it comes to video games, my interests cover the entire spectrum, from the absolute oldest to the absolute newest, though I will admit the oldest console I have at the moment is the Atari 2600, which was a recent purchase, and my newest console is a Gamecube, which I've had for years now. Though I've educated myself on the broad range of consoles and their games thanks to websites such as AtariAge, the Video Game Museum, Wikipedia, GameFAQs, and numerous others who's names are skipping my mind at the moment. (I visit those four the most often when I want to research video game stuff.) My interests aren't limited to home conoles either. I have an interest in PC gaming, both old DOS stuff and newer Windows stuff, I have an interest in pinball, though haven't played a regular pinball machine in over a decade since they're so hard to come across where I am, arcades also interest me, as do virtual reality simulators such as the VWE Battletech Tesla Pods. However, the choice of votes seems fairly limiting to me, so I chose not to. Instead, I'll let my words be my vote.
  11. This game is pretty tough, but I think I can pull through with at least a moderate score this time around. My current high score is 57,660, and I've no doubt I can improve that with a little more gameplay.
  12. This game hates me because no matter what techniques and strategies I try, I haven't been able to top my first score. x_x; Ah well... maybe I'll get lucky and next week's game will be one I can wrap the score counter on. ;D
  13. Ack. That sounds like more effort than I thought it might be... There's a repair shop in my city that handles video game equipment, even stuff as old as the NES... wonder if they can handle it?
  14. Actually, I took another look at my disk, and apparently I got it mixed up with another bad DOS game I was recently looking over because the disk really does say 1990 on it, not 1989... That means it came out the same year as STUNTS. ...Yeah. There's no excuse for the game to suck as bad as it does. I'm going to bet the publisher rushed the company to get it out in time for something, because if I was the sole person making that game, (and I do indeed make games on my own), I would never have released it in that condition unless someone forced me to.
  15. The headphones jack on my Game Gear, which I've had almost since its launch, has always only generated sound in one ear. (I forget which at the moment.) But it's recently come to my attention that some Game Gear games actually support stereo sound! Is it possible my Game Gear headphones jack is defective or is that a common problem with certain Game Gear models? Also, the speaker barely works anymore. At full volume it is practically impossible to hear. Is it possible to fix/replace it? What parts/tools do I need should it require replacing?
