I was hoping to find some information about if the Atari Flashback 9 firmware is able to be modded to use something like the Genesis Game Manager. I can't seem to find any information about the Atari FB9, only info about the 2018 Genesis HD. Anybody more knowledgeable than myself able to shed some light on the matter?

Whenever I get nostalgic for Circuit City, I just go to a HH Gregg. What I miss is Sears having a worthwhile electronics section.

I'm pretty hyped for it considering the fact that it's a fantastic way to get my two boys into classic Nintendo games and a way to bond with them in a, "Look! This is what I played when I was growing up!" way without risking damage or wear to my increasingly aging original hardware and carts. Plus it's small enough that I can leave it hooked up without people tripping all over the wires or knocking over a huge stack of carts like back in the day. Now the quality of emulation is yet to be seen however.

I'm just about 100% positive it has to due with Nintendo licensing Pac-Man from Namco for the Amiibo figure as well as his being in Super Smash Bros.

From what I understand, aren't the filler games made by Tec Toy and where available on multi-carts in South America because of the licensing with SEGA? If that's truely the case, I would love to see Tec Toy's Genesis port of Duke Nukem make a appearance. If you haven't seen it yet, it's very impressive what they where able to accomplish on stock Genesis hardware and could really be a selling point to casuals as well as collectors due to the rarity of that game.

I'm glad someone else saw that too and it wasn't just target marketing. I was looking at the trailer for Star Trek : Discovery and saw Sega Genesis was trending. Of course all the little "Me too!" news outlets are reporting it as their answer to the NES. Ridiculous.

Judging by the inclusion of Phantasy Star II and III, I can only conclude that the new feature is a battery assisted save function, potentially with save states. Fantastic feature if true, especially for us parents. However, to be honest I was expecting a new chip to handle 3D rendering (ala Zero Tolerance) or SVP chip emulation for Virtua Racing. I'm looking forward to the announcement!

Well the Atgames Genesis' are region free so any cartridge from anywhere should work. Which version of the Genesis did you use?

Well after several emails and waiting quite a while for a reply from Atgames, I'm still where I started. I can't find any information on the internet about this issue and about possible hardware revisions that could be causing this. So, I guess it's up to me. I'm going to buy last year's version of the Sega Genesis (the white box version with Eternal Champions and Sonic 3D Blast instead of Mortal Kombat) to see if that accepts the cartridge.

Well I've stopped using all my real consoles made before the N64 because I don't want to damage the cartridges or pin connectors. I have given thought to getting a HDMI to composite cable for my laptop since I long ago bought USB Retrolink versions of all the old system controllers and joysticks. I mainly just really dig the look and feel of the flashbacks. This reminds me, I do have a few things to add to the "thrift store finds" thread like a box of systems and games from a yard sale. It was a SNES, x2 controllers with Final Fight, Killer Instinct, Super Mario World and FX Racers. There was also a NES, x3 controllers with Double Dribble, Duck Tales, Metal Gear and a bunch of randoms. There was also a 2600 mini in there with one good joy and one bad one with no stick sleeve. It did have a lot of games however. I will go through them to see exactly what they where. I know Pitfall and Decathlon are in there for sure. Then my favorite part, as N64 with x2 controllers, the memory expansion pak and Donkey Kong 64, 007 Golden Eye, tons of random sports games and Conker's Bad Fur Day. (!!!) They wanted $75 for the whole box, but I talked them down to $50 based on them not wanting to haul it back inside. (edited for spelling/autocorrect)
