Yesterday I had a good Atari find. Not a record one, but since I almost never see Atari in the wild, it's a good one. I found 2600 six switch, power pack, 2 original controllers, 2 sets of paddles, and 11 common games at my local GW for $8.00. Hooray!!!
Question:
I know the original six switch "Heavy Sixer" was made in Sunnyvale, Cal. The one I found was made in Taiwan, so I figured it wasn't one. However I noticed it was heavier than normal. I opened it up and it did have the metal shielding and was manufactured on 9/26/80. My question is has anyone seen this before? I thought after they moved the manufacturing to Taiwan they removed the shielding? Anyone know approximately when they moved to Taiwan?
Problem:
Last night I decided to try out my new paddles and play a game of Kaboom, however when I start the game the button works but the paddles will not move the buckets back and forth. All the paddles work fine on my 4 switch. All the controller games work perfect so I know the controller port is ok. Is there any compatibility problem with Kaboom and the six switch?
