  1. I have seen this thing in person.. I can assure you Kevin is not over-promising. You should see the jig he built for analysing Gameboy at the cycle level. He basically re-made a gameboy onto perfboard with logic analyzer probes attached to every single pin on there. HIs 2600 core exposed bugs in several existing Atari emulators. If you have doubts about the level of tweakability you can expect, just look at some videos of the Hidef NES setup menus.
  2. Wow, I had no idea this would go around so fast. I was shooting to get the portable done as quickly as possible, and so had to settle for no bankswitching. I do have plans to make a portable using an original 2600 4-switch board, and a new multicart loading games off SD cards with the most common F8/F6 bankswitching. However that will have to wait until I can save up some more money to get a PCB made for that. If anyone wants to see their 2k/4k game running on this (and assuming it doesn't use illegal opcodes that foul up the FB2) I'll be happy to run it
  3. I've made a few PCBs with Advanced Circuits - since I'm a student, I can get a 2-layer board for $33 and some free food. Not a bad deal. Their FreeDFM thing is also very handy - spots some stupid errors that would have wasted my boards. I design boards with Eagle, and for more complex boards, use a demo version of the ELECTRA autorouter running under a virtual machine so I can get around the expiration time.
