  1. I'm not an Aquarius fan (Commodore and Intellivision mostly), but I really like this project! Have you considered "opening it up" for custom settings? I could see it being valuable for ASCII-like art on a variety of 8-bit systems... if one could specify a resolution, palette, cell size, and a BMP of the character set. This could apply to C64 PETSCII, Intellivision "card" graphics, Aquarius, Atari, etc. Just a thought! :-)
  2. I still have a few more things to sell, but not much time before my move. So these are what I can sell right now: TESTED BOXED Commodore VIC-20: Cables, Docs, etc.: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120611387814 TESTED Commodore 1581/1541-II Power Supply #1: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120611393924 TESTED Commodore 1581/1541-II Power Supply #2: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120611403629 TESTED WORKING Commodore 1571 Disk Drive: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120611405748 Click here to view all my items: eBay Seller: smf912 I also have a signed copy of Watership Down, if anyone's interested .
  3. ...or if the disk game itself has a fastloader. However, most disk-based fastloaders won't work with the uIEC.
  4. Try looking at www.gamebase64.com. They usually list PAL/NTSC. Let me know via PM if you still can't find working versions. A good general tip is to try them on WinVICE first with NTSC emulation on and drive emulation off. That should give you a good idea whether they'll work on your NTSC machine with uIEC. Google DirMaster. It's an easy-to-use C64 file editor, and it will let you extract PRG files from T64s. Then you can use those on the uIEC.
  5. Was done? /sigh I'm my own worst grammar nazi... I've never understood why type of phrasing is treated as erroneous. The "parser, dictionary, and grammar code" was in fact done in the past. If you had used a form of the verb "to create" instead of a form of the verb "to do" to, you would have written "was created" instead of "is created". Maybe you could have written "All parser, dictionary, and grammar code was created using Inform 6.31." Ah, English. Shrug.
  6. I made a few full-sized title screens using a custom character set and the Intellivision's foreground/background mode (explained here). A few INTV programmers have told me this technique should work with a bit of coding. However, nothing ever became of these images, so I'd be happy to let people use them. Or maybe we could work together on a project. In any case, enjoy...
  7. Edit: BTW, these are all ending TOMORROW! Cleaning house for extra cash and my upcoming move back to Louisiana (I guess Georgia just isn't oily enough for me). So, I'm getting rid of a few things that I can spare to lose: TESTED WORKING Commodore 1581 Disk Drive TESTED, WORKING Mega Cart for Commodore VIC-20 NTSC/PAL TESTED, WORKING Okimate 20 Printer for Commodore 64/128 WORKING OCP Advanced Art Studio for Commodore 64/128 Two Books for Commodore VIC-20 '86-87 COMPUTE!'s Gazette Magazines for Commodore Users 1986 RUN Magazines for Commodore Computers 1988 RUN Magazines for Commodore Computers The magazines/books are also tested and working, I just forgot to mention it. But you do have to read them carefully to get the full effect. Thanks for looking, ask me if you want further details on anything. eBay Seller: smf912
  8. It sounds like you have an 80-column RGB monitor cable but not a standard 40-column monitor cable. Or do you have both? Confused by the "8pin to 8pin", do you mean 8-pin to RCA? So if you have both, great. Look on the front of your monitor. There should be a video mode switch with three positions: composite, separate, and RGB. RGB is for 128 80-col mode. If you want to use this, the 40/80 col mode key on your 128 should be down when you start up the computer. Separate is for standard 40-column mode, either for C64 or C128. Refer to this for accessing the different modes. http://www.commodore.ca/manuals/128_system_guide/sect-02.htm Also, you might want to get accounts at both the "Lemon64" and "C128 & Pet Alive!" forums.
  9. Check at the PETSCII forums. A few DTV hackers hang out there.
  10. It's good to hear the voice of reason around here. I first started visiting to learn more about A8 graphics, but was driven away for a while after seeing some insane arguments about the "objective superiority" of machine XYZ versus machine ABC. It all comes down to preference. Bashing other computers is just dumb, IMO. None of us are into retro computing so that we can access highly powerful computers, we're in it for the nostalgia. I mostly hang out at Lemon64, but I couldn't stand it if they were fanboyish there, either. In fact, most of the time when other computers are mentioned, people are stating that they'd like to have that one as well. Hopefully the tide is turning here and "we'll all just get along". :-)
  11. Can't speak re: Amiga, but check these C64 lists: http://www.gb64.com/search.php?ft=1&a=3&d=18&h=0 http://www.lemon64.com/games/
  12. José, have a look at this: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/143684-intro-to-c64-gfx-modes-for-a8-users/page__fromsearch__1 It's pretty basic, but maybe it will help.
  13. It's a minor difference, but that's the naming convention in French. "The" Astrosmash, "the" Roulette. Think of it this way: in English, it would sound somewhat awkward/stupid if we said "look at rock" instead of "look at the rock".
  14. I'm not sure about the A8's video pinouts. You might be able to use a standard C64 video cable with luma/chroma/audio out. That's what the 1902A supports (not composite). I don't think the ST will output composite either, will it? And looks like you can't get an RGB connection to the 1902A from the ST: http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Comp/comp.sys.cbm/2005-11/msg00058.html
