Ooh I really would like one of these cases. Can't justify the purchase since I have a modded PSP and a PS Vita but this looks REALLY nice.

I also use 8bitdo controllers but if Im building for someone else or a gift for someone those parts are what I would use.

My Pi setup cost a lot because of all the things I wanted. Like the controllers, Super Kuma 9000 case, better power supply. All that adds up.

Get them running and if they like it they can upgrade. :)

heres a set with decent reviews. I didnt think of analogs but I might change my build to these also. (If I were doing one of course)

I would echo that 3B+ recommendation. This is a well priced kit that would get you running out of the box.

If I were going to build one this week I would go with:
Raspberry Pi 3B+ $38.00

Generic Case $6.00

2 wired USB controllers $11.00

5V/3A Power Supply $6.00

Sandisk Ultra Micro SD card 128GB $20.00

HDMI Cable $1.50

For $82.50 with free shipping you can build your own kit MUCH better than the $79.99 "pre-built" kits offered there. More storage, better controllers and better power supply.

Not a game, but picked up a Chinese "reissue" off of ebay.attachicon.gif20190314_180124.jpg

I bought 3 of these a few years ago. Got the red, white and black versions from China. They were $30 each at the time. Didn't care they were knockoffs it beat paying someone $1000 for an original. (I wish I had also grabbed the clear one. It's over $70 now.)

I got a pretty awesome package in the mail from Play-Asia today, and with this I've now got my Nintendo Switch set up just the way I want for both home and portable play! :D

I love the D-pad! Wish I had seen that sooner!

I gave myself $200 out of the tax return this year to spend a little. Here's the last of it:

The GBros. Adapter works brilliantly with my wife's MadCatz Tatsunoko vs Capcom Wii arcade stick and they really nailed the original Game Boy style with the SN30 Pro Controller. The controller color is perfect and the D-pad & buttons feel just like the Game Boy ones! :D

I didn't know this was a thing! I know where $20 of my next paycheck are disappearing to.

I don't have a dog in this fight but after reading through the last few pages then looking at the OP's profile I thought this was funny...

I have always loved Othello/Reversi. It has the elegance of being easy to learn but the strategy, planning ahead and anticipating your opponent's moves makes it a hard game to master.

And - oh my God - A SKYRIM WATCH! Two favorite things - TES: Skyrim and time pieces. I collect clocks and certain watches and this definitely goes with it!  :-o  :-o

That Skyrim pocket watch on the left there keeps trying to walk out my door. My son's mother is a bigger Skyrim fan than I am and every time she comes over she threatens to snatch it like... well... a KHAJIIT SNEAK THIEF! Just wanted to say that - even tough the shine's off the holiday season I - and my family - still love the gifts. :)

#4207684 Do you wear video game themed or inspired clothes?

Posted by ClassicGMR on Mon Jan 28, 2019 9:59 AM

I have 2-3 different Pac-Man shirts. I recently got a Burgertime/Deadpool crossover shirt I love (Taco Time!). My wife has a Galaga "For a good time insert coin" shirt she has worn out.

Wow... that's all I have to say.

The BleemSync/Playstation "side" of the system is fabulous. I love having all my PS1 games in order and accessible in the carousel. Love it. My carousel has 42 games as of right now - 20 pre-loaded and 22 I added. No issues.

As an aside I found a great little tool that simplifies the BIN/CUE problem I was experiencing due to having multiple BIN files for PS1 games. It's no longer being developed but it works great and is extremely simple to use. Check out the CDMage portion of this post if you need a tool to reformat your Tomb Raider or Space Hulk game. ;)

I played with RetroArch the last few days. I have gotten random crashes here and there (RetroArch menu glitched badly when i exited NES - 1942. System crashed when I exited NES - Super Mario Bros. It locked up when I opened 2600 - Adventure) but nothing repeatable. It just happens randomly and rarely. Still a WIP so I can live with it. I am used to using front ends like GameEx or EmulationStation so using RetroArch is a fairly new thing for me. I found this video that really helped me make it look better.

I downloaded all the thumbnail packs for the systems I installed, downloaded the databases and then scanned the directories for playlist creation(that was an overnight task). Now I have all the systems and box art for the games I installed. This thing is really taking shape and I love using it! Got my powered USB hub connected so I can use both controllers that came with the system. The only thing I haven't done yet is try different controllers. I have an XBox 360 wired controller somewhere I just have to find it. :)

VERY happy overall. And it should just get better since this is still a beta setup.

By the way - Just my 2 cents but if anyone is interested in doing it next year and worried they'll miss the announcement (this has been mentioned a few times) then FOLLOW this topic!  Even if it's April and you just found this click the FOLLOW at the top. You'll see the notification for the 2019 SS if/when it's announced. :)
