I understand and follow your logic about the value of collecting and having or getting the upper hand on other collectors.
However, 20 years ago I placed a newspaper ad to buy Atari 2600 games for $1.00 and I did receive a lot of phone calls and I meet people at gas stations / K-mart parking lots & where ever. Looked like a drug deal going down with me snooping thru bags and boxes. lol
I am not sure if I am really a collector for Atari or not, because I simply bought has many games as I could just because I knew at that time in the future as time goes on that these games and what not would be harder to come by and I wanted it so I could play them is all. I remember the joy these games gave me when I was 15 yrs old.
I don't care if I get a game in a box or not with a book or not. Would be nice but I just want to play the game is all.
I am a kid at heart. I don't know if anyone else has thought of this or not, but something I have thought about for years about the Atari games comparied to todays games.
But here it goes:
Space invaders game you had the choice of making the shields move or the aliens disappear, remember the different game numbers for changing the game options. Like in Asteriods it has game number 1 thru 48 I think it is where it changes for shields or no shields for spaceship or make the asteriods go straight up and down or diaginal.
Todays games have better graphics but you can't change the game itself like you can the Atari games. sure you can change maps like in battlefield from one map to another but thats it. Are there any xbox or xbox 360 / Wii games where you can change the game settings in the way you can the Atari games.
