  1. Question for those with the Ultimate Intellivision Flashback and have added support for the Atari 2600. Have you been able to get an Atari 2600 joystick to work? Using the Ultimate Interface, I can get it to recognize the 2600 joystick, can navigate the menus, and start the game, but I don't have a SELECT or START. If I put the Intellivision FB controller in Player 2 and the 2600 in Player 1, I have a SELECT and START on the Intellivision controller, and the 2600 joystick will work for direction, but the fire button isn't active! Any tips on getting the 2600 joystick working with this setup?
  2. I finally got my Ultimate Flashback up and running (mostly). I got a Raspberry Pi 3 for Christmas and had purchased the Ultimate Intellivision PC Interface from Byte Knight. Installed retropie 4 on it and started loading it up. Besides Intellivision, I wanted to include a number of other classic emulators and controllers. This is not an easy project for the beginner, but thanks to the resources available, including this thread (that takes FOREVER to get through), I got it done. The part that was the hardest for me was getting the Intellivision emulator and flashback controller working. Getting the keyboard hack file installed was a pain. I don't know Linux and couldn't resolve the permissions issue to get the file into the jzintv directories (so I put it in a different folder and updated the path in the config file). Despite that, I could not get the flashback controller working properly. I spent HOURS on this, and finally discovered the flashback controller I was trying to use was bad! Switched to my other flashback controller and BOOM! But the problems forced me to learn more about the process and how the files interact with each other. Many of the messages on this thread were very helpful, and I appreciate all of you sharing your knowledge with others. Thanks! Still need to get the Atari 2600 and Colecovision joysticks working for their respective emulators, but I'm feeling pretty good about that. Thanks!!!
  3. What about PS1 backups? I've searched online and it sounds possible through some crazy "disc swap" method that involves taking the cover off.
  4. While cleaning out a tub o' game stuff, I ran across a boxed Odyssey2 Quest for the Rings. Box has seen better days, but the contents are nice. Some of the pieces haven't even been punched out of their card. I need to get rid of it, and hate to just toss it or take it to Goodwill. If anybody wants it, how about $4 for the game and $5 to cover shipping for a total of $9? PayPal only.
  5. I dug out my Vectrex from storage (clean basement, packed away in a tub) where it has been for the past several years, and was all ready for some vector gaming goodness. I fired it up, heard that old familiar startup tune, but no display. I just get the dreaded "white dot" in the center of the screen. Jacked with the brightness, even took apart the case to look for loose connections or obvious problems, but no luck. This really is a bummer. It worked great when I packed it away. I have over a dozen games for it, many with overlays. The games play fine (can hear them, and control them), just can't see them. I've spent quite a bit of time looking over different forums for ideas. It doesn't sound good. Does anybody have any ideas what the problem may be, and what a possible remedy is?
  6. SINGLE TOOTH and n8littlefield - those sigs are HILARIOUS!!! You guys are playing right in to Atari5200's hands. He does this shit just to get a rise. He sets the bait, waits for a response, and then starts in on his usual "you Nintendo fanboys are hilarious" and other BS. Whatever the subject of the forum is, it could be a site forum dedicated to barbeque, beer making, action figures, or even needlepoint, and there is going to be an Atari5200 there posting their shit. Put someone people behind a keyboard on the Internet and they can really unleash their true asshole personality. I can't even stretch my imagination far enough to remotely understand why or how people get their kicks out of doing this (thank goodness). I guess it is easier for some people to be dicks than it is to be nice. You would think Atari5200 is some teenage punk, but I think he is actually an adult with a family. Nice role model for those kids. I'll bet they turn out to be good school yard bullies, just like their dad (and he'll be proud of those little rascals). But what do I know? I'm just a "Nintendo Fan Boy".
  7. I could not find this game by searching locally (like others have indicated), so I ordered it through Amazon (free shipping, no tax). This game is AWESOME. Very similar to the Gottlieb HoF collection, but it seems like there are more tables. I actually like the nunchuck and wiimote control setup. You can really nudge the table, and I never did get a tilt. Well worth the low price and extra effort required to pick this up, if you like the old Williams pinball tables.
  8. My wife picked me up a Microsoft wireless keyboard for Christmas, with the intent of using it for the Wii. I hooked it up and can't get the sucker to work for the life of me! Is there any trick to enabling keyboard input on the Wii? I know it should only work with the Wii message board and Internet channel. The wireless keyboard light turns on when I enter either of those channels, but pressing the keys does nothing. The light goes back off when I exit a channel. It is like it knows the keyboard is there, but it doesn't recognize a key being pressed. I searched online, and it seems that Microsoft may be somewhat flakey for compatibility. Maybe I should exchange it for a Logitech? But I thought I'd ask if there was something simple I was missing before exchanging. Oh, I have done all the firmware updates. Go figure.
  9. That is so blatantly untrue that I just had to comment. A double check in the Wii forum shows "every other thread" is NOT about hardcore games. You are lying. Also couldn't resist commenting on this completely untrue generalization. That's like saying "it sure seems like people going by the name Mendon are a bunch of assholes". One of the reasons I got a Wii was to play games with my family, including my 4 yr old who is getting pretty damn good at bowling. I really don't give a crap if some Nintendo hater thinks the system is "kiddie". Anybody with any maturity doesn't care if they are considered "hardcore", especially as a positive thing. It is so ironic that all this bashing about graphics takes place on a forum/site dedicated to an ancient video game console with some of the clunkiest graphics around. These ridiculous threads get old.
  10. I picked it up yesterday. Best Buy was sold out but Game Stop had 1 copy left. It is pretty fun. I got it mainly because it is a game I can play with my wife and son (almost 5, and he is pretty good with the Wiimote!). It is not a very deep game, and it would have been nice to have been integrated with Mii's rather than custom characters, but no regrets. It is pretty fun, and another game besides Wii Sports we can all play.
  11. Around here, I usually at least see Hotel Dusk. Trauma Center shows up quite often too. Toys R Us had an awesome clearance on games recently (PSP and DS included). 15% off, including clearance games. Picked up Nanostray, True Swing Golf, and a couple others for about $7.50 each. Both the wife and I have a DS (hers is pink of course) and they have allowed us to actually play games together, which is practically a first. We play Clubhouse Games, some of the poker/casino games, and others. She is hooked on games like Diner Dash and Cake Mania. She was NOT a gamer, but she'll pick up the DS in a heartbeat. I don't think she even knows what a PSP is. Seriously, to each his own. Why is there always this VERSUS shit, and who gives a fuck who the "winner" is? Or when you profess your preference of one over another, despite the reason, you are a "fanboy". I don't see where this thread "ended it all".
  12. I was browsing the Wii Shop Channel last night and ran across a free update for Starfox 64. I had previously downloaded it, so the update was free. I didn't see any indication of what the update did, but assume it is maybe a bug fix? Anybody have any clues what this update is about?
  13. You got some good ones in that batch that came with the system, and that is not bad at all for $25!!! I enjoyed the Banjo Kazooie and Tooie games. I played the shit out of Pokemon Puzzle League, even though I don't care for Pokemon at all. A lot of people rip the N64, but I got a lot of enjoyment out of it and hope you do too, with your "green machine".
