  1. Personally I preferred the Apple II graphics for the first 5 Ultima's over the enhanced graphics that other computers may have offered though I enjoyed the enhanced sound that the other computers had over the Apple II.
  2. The funny thing is that from you didn't even know what you had until you saw that other auction.
  3. How would it have helped their sales if they hadn't taken this action?
  4. So was there a shipping label on it showing when he actually mail it to you?
  5. This is exactly what I said to Starscream... all this hoopla about a "defunct" system... Atari isn't going to make any new 2600 games, or systems, so, um, what's the big deal? Someone sure had a bee up their ass... Keep something in mind please. As I said before, while I don't agree on making bootleg copies of games I had nothing to do with ebay cancelling those auctions and suspending his account. I've actually made many posts on DP about the so called "ebay police" sticking their noses in shit that isnt any of their business. but what I feel about this issue doesn't mean jack shit. What DOES matter though is that ebay obviously thought that a legal line was being crossed. they didn't care that the games in question were 20+ years old. They just saw copyrighted material being pirated and put a stop to it.
  6. who ever said they obeying laws needed to be befeficial to the community?
  7. As I said, the original copyright holder may not care. Christ, they may not even know that they own the game with all the companies and copyrights that have changed hands since the 80s. But ebay isn't going to take this into consideration. They see black and white. Legal or bootleg. Where are they supposed to draw the line and is it even up to them to do so? They do whatever they need to do to protect themselves. And as far as money charging hands and profiting, last I remember the auction in question was over $250 for a single cart. Ask yourself this, if making money and profit wasn't the goal then why was it ever posted on ebay in the first place? Yeah, that's right, breaking the law is ok as long as you have friends that agree with you.
  8. Just curious here but how are we "ignorant"? The way I look at this, and correct me if i'm wrong is that he made copies of the two games that were part of his double ender cart. Last I knew it was against the law to sell copies of copyrighted software Now I understand that the games in question are quite old and it's very possible that the original copyright owners wouldn't care much about the auction in question. But the point is that they are commercial games and he did make and attempt to sell illegal copies of them. Now unless you can somehow explain to me that either he purchased the rights to these games or that the actual owners of the intellectual property gave him permission to make his copies then I don't see how you guys can argue the fact that what he did was legally wrong and ebay pulled the plug on it. I understand why everyone here is bummed but lets face it, ebay wasn't really wrong here.
  9. For whatever its worth, I'm one of the individuals over at DP who doesn't really care for the idea of selling bootlegged videogames on ebay. And apparantly ebay didn't like it too much either. But before I get attacked, I swear I didn't contact ebay about it. My disagreement about it didn't go any further than a thread over at DP.
  10. I haven't played it in a while but I remember loving Astro Chase back when I bought when it was new. I especially remember thinking that the graphics were great at the time.

$45 & $50 for newly listed games in the Atari Age store? (3D Rubik's Cube & Revenge of the Apes) Is this just a sign of the times or are these games special in some way?
  12. Yeah, I guess that's what I get for not reading the entire thread before I responded. the jokes on me I guess Great joke though.
  13. Just out of curiosity, where in Connecticut was this flea market and when did you go? I'm from Connecticut myself and I have to say that I'm somewhat curious about what flea markets have been open recently since it's been somewhat cold recently.
  14. Sure seems like an aweful lot of people have an Obelix (as do I) for a supposed rarity 10 game.
  15. Is there a problem with it? I'm trying to place an order but it keeps telling me that I didn't fill out all required fields when EVERYTHING is filled out.
