I have learned from the past that you should not rely on game companies to service your TV needs. Since the PSN fiasco few years back, that killed the services like Netfilx, I purchased ROKU to watch movies. I no longer use PSN for Netflix. Actually, I think is cheaper to use ROKU type of device to stream Netflix the PS3 or X360.
Lets compare the power usage: PS3 250W, ROKU 4W, hmmm, I think I choose ROKU.
I watched both reveals, and it looks like Sony primarily focused on gaming and Microsoft on TV integration. Two different business directions.
