  1. My first ever acting gig was a small role in a movie with Al Lewis. I remember sitting at the table with him for hours, both waiting to do our scene - we were waiting until the wee hours. He was a lovely, lovely guy. He offered me chewing tobacco. I was 14! Haha. He told me he never watched anything he was in, I was fascinated by that but now I understand it. I was a huge Munsters fan so it was so cool to be able to spend that evening with him and then even be in a scene with him! Al said to the other folk we were with "You watch this boy, he'll be famous in a year". It was 18 months later that I landed a core cast role in a TV show that still runs to this day. I was in it for 13 years and I literally couldn't go anywhere in NZ without being recognised (fame sucks, btw). Al was only 6 months off. Haha. And now I'm a poor game dev... RIP Al Lewis. Such a legend. I need to play this game now...
  2. I love how you guys add 'dust covers' to all of your products as part of the packaging. It may not be a conscious thing but I use them for that. The 2600+ one doesn't fit when it's plugged up though. lol
  3. I gotta say, I don't think you could have chosen three better games for the 7800 to kick off. Even I have heard of these (Sega nut) and played them! I have already pre-ordered everything from Mighty Ape here in NZ. Ninja Golf is so much fun.
  4. Sorry @Ben from Plaion but would you perhaps be able to answer this for me? perhaps it was overlooked during testing? It only affects the team games in breakout where two players can play at once.
  5. Yeah, and he even struggles with Master System and Mega Drive. Many of those games are too hard for him to get his head around. The Atari may have tough-as-nails games but they're simpler. He was teaching himself how to play Mr. Run and Jump and got to level two on his own
  6. I only have one joystick! I shall rectify this STAT.
  7. @Ben from Plaion You have created a monster! A small one, but still. Actually, I guess I created him...
  8. Haha awesome! Man, I'd love a new, slightly smaller SMS with HDMI. A Mega Drive too! The mini MDs were cool but I like the idea of expanding the physical library and officially rereleased games. The 7800 library is a good step though - I don't have much experience with that console and there are some neat games I'll now be able to afford!
  9. @Ben from Plaion You guys are doing incredible work. Just got my 2600+ and loving it, as well as various other systems you produce (I just reviewed The400 Mini for a retro mag here in New Zealand). As for the 2600+, are you planning to do similar things with other consoles? A Sega Master System perhaps? Hehe. I actually quit collecting because of prices but this has got me back into it - I'm just going to buy the new releases from Plaion. Cheers!
  10. So my console and games arrived yesterday and I have never seen my son so excited - not even on Christmas. This morning, I go to the lounge to find this: The funny thing is he hasn't shown a massive interest in games until now. He does like to play whatever I'm playing (which is kind of annoying, lol) but this is the first time he's actively booted up a console to have a go himself. LOVES Mr. Run & Jump!
  11. Oh man, I hope Atari rereleases this. I'm only collecting new carts as I'm too poor to buy boxed games and I'm super anal when it comes to condition. LOL. I played the C64 version as a kid - Nebulus. Great game!
  12. Sorry if this has been answered (I did scan quickly) but I just got a 2600+ with paddles - overall very happy with them BUT the second paddle doesn't work in Breakout for some odd reason. It works fine in Video Olympics. What could cause this?
  13. @Ben from Plaion Do you know if Atari will be releasing new 7800 carts for it?
  14. I can't wait for mine. I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I'm not too worried about compatibility as I only intend to buy brand-new releases for it, which will obviously work, haha.
  15. Sorry, I have looked and I don't even seem to have the rom file anymore. It's out there though as I have seen it included in rom packs - there are plenty of alternatives too
