Got the multi cart from atarimax with the games preloaded .I didnt want to have to find and load the roms. Its great a menu comes up for all games just put in the # or scroll down with the joystick. its great and reccomended

Havent tried those games .Dont you need two controllers for robotron?

Thanks John, Thanks for all the help with the control circuits they work great on almost every game! after searching every electronics store and online for a enclosure. I was getting bummed and just happened to go shoppin at walmart with my girlfriend. I saw the cutting boards and the baking pans were on the other side of the same isle and the light bulb went on. We went back home and got the fire buttons and joystick and hightailed back to check the fit and we were in. It really works good. Thanks for your help with the schematic John and happy gaming. Also im in second on the zaxxon contest and still tryin to get a higher score. Now i dont like my comp pros anymore they feel horrible after using an arcade quality controller. I paid a kings ransom for them so now they will get sold on ebay maybe i should keep them for my collection. Thanks

OK THATS WHAT I WANT !!!! Where did you get it or how do you make 1 ? Do you know what was done ? I want to make 2 of them I was thinking about putting a jack in my megatroller to interrupt the left right and have a 2600 paddle control. Will that work with Pole Position? if so how do you shift from low to high? Help me on this one guys. The 5200 is awesome with the right controllers. The Megatroller(starcon clone) i made is fantastic on most games. Pacman is great but its no good for Kaboom. You gotta have a paddle control. Im leaning to the plug in 2600 paddle controller does anyone know what the ohm value of a 2600 paddle control? is it 500k ohm? Thanks Paul i'm pretty sure the 2600 paddles are 1 meg but the 5200 doesnt care it has a nice sweet spot in the middle to get pole position to shift using the number buttons 1 and 7 you must wire the pot commons to the +5 v which is pin 12 as opposed to pin9 unfortunatly every standard atari stick ive seen doesnt have that pin wired and only uses 14 conductor wire you could use the 1 meg pots from paddles as the centering adjusters on your megatroller you got plenty of room to mount them on that big blue tray i would use them on my home mades but i dont want to sacrifice them even though it would probably be cheaper to buy used paddles on ebay and using the pot and knob as opposed to buying component parts at a 500k pot about $2 the pot nut 5 cents the knob $1 since i need 2 per stick that comes to $6.10 and i bet i could find an ebay lot that has a couple sets of paddles for that plus a little shipping but nothing gives me the same satisfaction as being able to claim that i made a joystick for the 5200 without using any official atari parts I think i could use a headphone jack to interupt the horizontal signal and have the 2600 controlle plug in to the jack then the joysick will handle the shift as the up down would still work does the atari 2600 paddle have a buttun for the fire or gas? maybe that could be used also HMMM

Welcome to the HSC. It's always good to have new people. This megatroller you mention, is it something you made yourself? We're always interested in new contraptions for our vintage equipment. Why not post a picture of it on here? I'm quite curious to see what it's like myself. Who knows, you might even be able to sell a few of them too. Thanksguys what a great site i posted info on the 5200 forum but heres a pic of it it works great makes playing alot more fun. Its homemade, Its Big about the size of the console, but its very stable sits in your lap and help with fatigue, Therefore i call it the Megatroller. I used a 12 X 16 polypropolene cutting board for the top and a 9 x 13 baking pan for the bottom, The electronic parts came from spark fun electronics except the digital to analog converter which i got the shematic from john(prodos8) works far better than a wico or comp pro controller.Im gonna try for 100k on zaxxon you guys are great.thanks for all the help and fun Paul

Hey guys im in second for sure solid 54100 I had 48000 with the first plane then i started chokin as the openings get smaller.Gotta relax and let it go easy does it. Zaxxon is a great game as you go it gets much harder. My new megatroller works good on zaxxon pic attached

I want to know about the multi carts for the 5200. Tha atarimax usb sounds like it doesnt come with the games. Do you have to find your own roms? Can you get a multicart with the games on it? Without the dip switches. I want one and any help is appreciated. Thanks Paul K

What do you do for a paddle controller on Kaboom 5200 the joystick sucks. anybody try making a 5200 Paddle contol? if so any pics or suggestions. Thats my next project . my new megatroller is great for most games but kaboom is better on the 2600 with a paddle. Also love river raid never knew this game was out there havent used my 5200 for years and now i find out there were alot of games , aftermarket controllers and the vcs adapter. The 5200 is so much better than the 2600 like Zaxxon. Its great on the 5200 and its a joke on the 2600. How bout 7800 games are those any better than 5200 games although it doesnt look like pacman and some of the arcade greats were made for that.
