#2790250 Alamogordo approves Atari excavation

Posted by purduecrum on Thu Jul 11, 2013 6:06 AM

I don't really understand why they would want to do this. It's not like they are excavating dinosaur bones or ancient ruins, it's crushed multimedia from the 1980s. It just seems like a massive waste of money and resources.

You've just described the formula for "good" television.

#2761944 H.E.R.O. hack?

Posted by purduecrum on Mon May 27, 2013 7:38 AM

I know someone else put together a hack that had random rooms (on game #5). That really puts some nice variation into the game. Perhaps a H.E.R.O. 2013 needs a release that combines some of these great hack ideas!

You get the Apocrypha but no Pseudepigrapha? I'll wait for the SARA version with commentary.

I'll probably never own a copy of the original Tank Commander, an improved reproduction would be a great substitute!

Not to sound like a broken record... But Toyshop Trouble and Oystron are legendary.

These are all unbelievable. Outstanding work by all! I think there has to be more than one winner with labels being either the buyer's choice or a random assignment. Variety is a good thing!

It would be funny to see the "Acts" implemented in the original Atari 2600 pacman style. Of course, the acts would have to be largely unrelated to the arcade originals.

Kikstart, Bagman, Defender of the Crown, Spy Hunter, Boulder Dash, Beach Head 2...

Yes, my youth was in the Commodore...

#2596229 Is this something?

Posted by purduecrum on Sun Sep 9, 2012 11:04 AM

I haven't touched this since last December. My old laptop had a broken monitor and I never re-installed any Batari development on my new machine (just moved over files). I may revisit it at some point, but have no immediate plans to get to it. I do remember a laundry list of things that I'd like to get to at some point.

Enjoy!
