  1. Questions about gameplay: How do I activate a shield and a parachute at the same time? The AI players seem to be able to use parachutes while their shields are active. If I go to the defensive items screen during a round and try to activate both, one just overrides the other and it disappears from my inventory. What is the AutoDefense supposed to do? It seems to behave like a regular shield. I'm pretty sure in the DOS game it automatically activated other defensive items whenever they were needed.
  2. This is not good UI. Please change the angles back to 0-90 on each side instead of 0-180. I have to sit and think 180 minus what equals the current angle when I'm trying to shoot towards the left. This is really an "elevation" control and angle is just how you measure the elevation. Making the player do extra work to figure it out is not good.
  3. It is working. I was using Altirra 4.00-test 39 which seems to be the problem. I updated to 4.10-test 7 and it works completely fine.
  4. How much is supposed to be working? It loads the title screen, I press the trigger, it loads the option screen and freezes up there, no keys or joystick response. I'm running on Altirra set to 800XL 64K PAL, Atari XL OS 3, BAISC turned off, all acceleration turned off. I've tried all different OS's, ram configurations, putting it on ATRs with different DOS's, NTSC/PAL, BASIC on/off, always the same result.

  8. I'm working on a program that reads paddle A and displays the value as a decimal number. It's a little buggy. Sometimes it displays a ":" instead of a digit. So I'm trying to figure it out with Synassembler's built in monitor (Zynapse monitor). When tracing or stepping through, it locks up the system - black screen, unresponsive - at line 280 (it's a DEX). I'm using Altirra and I've tried a couple different OS ROMs, switching PAL/NTSC, different RAM configuration, different Synassembler executables, and different versions of Altirra. Is Synapse's monitor just buggy and can't do it? What's going on? Paddle to decimal.atr
