This is a bucket list game for me. I played it for a little bit back in the day but not nearly enough. It’s sort of a Zelda-like and I remember the music really resonating with me.

Guilty Gear X is my favorite fighter on the system. It was absolutely stunning when it came out, I had never seen 2D artwork look so good up to that point. It’s still a looker now, IMO. The Dreamcast is host to loads of quality fighters. My other favorites are mostly Capcom, like MvC 1 and 2, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Capcom Vs. SNK.

I'm preaching to the choir here, but the Lynx was an impressive piece of kit at the time. I think despite the more limited focus in its game types, its library is actually pretty solid too, to the point where I feel it's unfair to put it on the same level as the 7800--The Lynx was miles ahead of that. Comparing game lineups, I think the Lynx's greatest limiting factor compared to the Game Boy and Game Gear is that it's a very arcade-centric library. The Game Boy and Game Gear libraries on the other hand were modeled much more after the types of games were popular on the NES/Master System at the time. You also had more "longer" experiences on the competing platforms (like adventure games and RPGs). The Game Gear and Game Boy libraries just tended to be more varied overall compared to the Lynx. We have to remind ourselves that other factors also played a role in these handhelds' success at the time. The Lynx was the largest of the three. It ate batteries the fastest. It cost the most. It had a lot of things going against it, so the fact it even found the success it did is impressive. It didn't do as well as the Game Gear, but I also don't think it was a stain on Atari's history. Quite the contrary, honestly.

That’s my main complaint with the game, the drab color palette. There are some cool tunnel sequences, but otherwise the whole thing is very muted. Thankfully, the music, gameplay/controls and framerate are solid. I love the boost mechanic—when you get going, you really fly through those courses.

Hopefully that fixes it! Let us know. I love going completely overkill on PSUs. I have a 1000 watt in mine and because it’s barely ever tapped, its fan never kicks on. Sweet, sweet silence. 🤣

Indeed it is… it actually was an arcade game.

“Beaten” in 40 minutes if you credit feed. I feel like this game is nearly impossible though if you try to go for a 1CC. Love the cheese in this one. ”Boolitz”. 🤣

SONY PLAYSTATION 2 - RUN BACKUP DISC FORMAT
Austin replied to Onlyfordj's topic in Sony Playstation 3
Why is this in the PS3 section? Got my hopes up and thought there was a hack for non-BC PS3s that let users play any PS2 game, heh.
