  1. Same thing happened with my joystick. At first it was working great with the mod idea that @tyke offered up. But now it has gone back to not working. Has anyone "fixed" their joystick with this mod and does it STILL work 100% a week later? If so, exactly what did you use for your mod?
  2. @Albert It has been 4 months since your last email communication. Can you please give us another detailed update?
  3. So many Activision labels look like crap. The good thing it is so easy to remove the label (with a little heat like a hair dryer or heat gun) and open them up and clean them up and replace with a brand new repro label. They look great afterwards!
  4. Don't waste your time loosening screws... here is the real fix from @tyke:
  5. Wow! This 100% fixed my joystick! And now all my screws are back to being nice and tight! The screw loosening technique never worked for me... but this method works great. I cut a small square of 1/4' thick sponge tape. Thank you!!!
  6. Found my GUID! Using this tool: https://www.generalarcade.com/gamepadtool/ It is different than yours. This is what works for me on my 2600-daptor D9 (purchased in Nov. 2019 with latest firmware v.230204): 03000000d8040000ebf6000011010000,2600-daptor D9,a:b0,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,platform:Linux, Very nice to be able to use the classic 2600 controllers on the 400 Mini! Thanks!
  7. Do you know where I can get the GUID for mine? I am using Windows... would it be buried in Device Manager somewhere?
  8. I am using the same setup you are (D9 plugged into USB1 and THECXStick in port USB2). I even updated the firmware on my 2600-daptor D9 to the latest version found here: https://www.2600-daptor.com/2600-firmware D9.htm No luck. Button still does not respond.
  9. Got the gamecontrollerdb.txt file on the root of the USB stick and load up the 400 Mini with 2600-daptor D9 plugged into the left joystick port. Console senses the joystick movements but does not sense the button push. Is there something else I have to do? Does the 400 Mini have another config file or setting that needs to be adjusted to tell it I am using the 2600-daptor D9? My 2600-daptor D9 has all three dip-switches in the UP position.
  10. I've got my USB stick and I am ready to create a custom config file in the root. What should the name of the custom config file be? And do I only paste that one line into it?
  11. I have a 2600-daptor D9. Can you explain this a bit more? What is this custom config string and how does it work?
  12. Incredible that Atari took a 47 year old joystick that has been an old reliable for our entire lives... and screwed up its most basic functionality.
  13. Hate to break it to everyone but loosening the screws is not fixing it. It might make it a little better, but it is still broken. Hoping someone can come up with a real 100% fix.
  14. Never in the history of 8-way joysticks has there ever been a design that required the user to "use a light touch if you want to move left or right"... until today. Give me a break! Atari/Plaion/whoever designed this joystick screwed up. They are about to get a LOT of returns.
  15. No luck for me with loosening the screws. Heck, even removing them doesn't fix it. Are you all testing with Windows USB Controller tester? That is where you were see the real simple results. Press lightly to the right, it registers right. Press a little harder to the right, it registers down/right. Same thing with pushing left... however it seems you have to press a little harder (compared to pressing right) to see it happen.
