  1. Was browsing Arcade Heroes list of upcoming arcade games & saw a "Food Fight Frenzy - Retro Arcade Remakes/Atari (2024)" Intrigued, I did a search & found nothing about an upcoming arcade title, but a few articles about a new Food Fight game for The VCS by "Mega Cat Studios" followed by a PC & multiplatform home console release. The thing is all these articles are from around 2021 & mention a "early 2022" release, yet here it's almost early 2024. Guessing maybe it was scrapped? Anyone have any info? My first time hearing about this. Would love to see this happen & so curious as to where they might take a Food Fight for The 2020's. Don't wanna get my hopes up though. Here is one of the articles I came across. Alot copy & paste the same wording https://screenrant.com/atari-food-fight-game-remake-online-multiplayer/
  2. If you already have 34 I'd say go for it. I feel extremely fortunate I was able to jumpstart my 7800 collection in the late 90's with 20-30 games NEW, all for 80 cents a piece from a liquidation website at the time! Over time & especially during the 2010's I gradually filled it up until I acquired a complete NTSC library EXCEPT Tank Command. 6-7 years later I still can't bring myself to wait for it to turn up & go through with it 😞 But still hope to one day before I die I own the Super Pac-Man homebrew & I do need to pick up some more of those, Bentley Bear is LONG overdue Also gotta say glad I took the plunge with most of the rarer games in the previous decade, the prices already seem significantly higher already, less then 10 years after
  3. Any plans to get this on Spotify? That's where I listen to all my podcasts nowadays & having to keep Youtube open on my phone to listen to one while out is a pain (Not going to subscribe to YT premium that allows you to play audio in the background like nearly every other app in existence)
  4. Came here to post, bcuz yeaaa I don't know a whole lot of people IRL who can relate to my nerdy excitement 😜 Hopefully ONE day before I die I'll get a perfect Choplifter score. I was amazed I even pulled this off honestly, after 100s & 100s of times playing throughout my life I barely ever made it into the 60's. I have such a love/hate relationship with this game I swear. Can be brutal, but I just can't stay away. Anyway would like to hear some of your best scores + see screenshots on these if any & maybe try some 7800 high score competitions in general
  5. Yea, the last time I really put the time in to beat Scrapyard Dog & got to that boss was the late 90's & I think the only way I managed to get to the end was to draw a map on notebook paper of what sewer pipes to jump through. I remember that part being incredibly frustrating. I see alot of complaints about the main character, but IDK just never rly bothered me, came off as an average joe wanting to rescue his beloved dog lol I tried one of those hacks on an emulator for a bit & thought it was hilarious, the role reversal where you play as "Scraps" & rescue your owner instead Stacked up against your typical NES side scrolling action game, I still think Ninja Golf's controls feel awkward a bit. I have alot of respect for it though & play it occasionally. Agree on the dragons also, very lazy & it was a big letdown when I got to the end only to realize it was the same boss AGAIN Gonna have to pick up Crystal Quest at some point
  6. Ahhhhh I'm so conflicted about Scrapyard Dog. It was one that immediately came to mind when thinking about a Top 5, but I just can't forgive that final boss decision. I will say that game along with Ninja Golf were the 2 main later releases I had no idea existed in the 80's that blew my mind as far as what my 7800 could have actually done. I almost put Ninja Golf on my list as well, but had to be honest with myself: the controls are a bit wonky although it is still pretty impressive, creative & fun I really need to pick up Crystal Quest already, speaking of The 7800's true capabilities
  7. Yea it's one of those simple old school arcade type games that I can play for relatively short periods of time to try & top my high score. Some intense moments when you're down to just a couple eggs, frantically trying to survive lol I also think it shoulda been a light gun title. Can't remember if the official light gun or Best Electronics had a second button either, but that would kinda be necessary. Nowadays I only have a flat screen, so can't make use of a light gun anyways (Nor play Barnyard Blaster at all, but apparently I'm not missing much) The accuracy definitely isn't perfect, but I found the more I stuck with it the more I adapted to it. It was originally an Atari ST game I believe, that used the mouse & has even better graphics The quirkiness of it all is one reason it appeals to me too, it is kind of out there haha
  8. TOP 5: 1.Food Fight 2.Mario Bros 3.Choplifter 4.Commando 5.Crack'ed (Yea I know, I'm like the one guy on the planet that really enjoys this game ) 3 HONORABLE MENTIONS: -Alien Brigade -Joust -Xevious *ALSO: -Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest would probably be on there if I hadn't been putting off ordering it for so long. Hopefully someday I will before it's too late -Scrapyard Dog would make The Top 5 if it wasn't for that ridiculous disappointment of a final boss which ruins it
  9. Yeaaa, it was a rough game. I never actually played it until MAME in the 2000's, but when I first saw it at the arcade my Mom took me to I was like "WOAAAH Joust TWO?!! This looks so cool, I bet it'll come out for my 7800 since we have the original" lol Someone else was playing it that day & I never got to spend much time in arcades when I was with her.
  10. Joust 2...ahhh...another one of the several arcade games I hoped would be released for my 7800 in the 80's that never happened
  11. Can you tell me which button is used to start games? I've never played an Intellivision & just trying it out on Retroarch. I figured out the keypad controls & setting the amount of players, but both games I've tried so far : Diner & Dracula I swear I've hit every button on my Xbox One Controller & they won't start. I wind up just randomly mashing all buttons & can sometimes get a game to load though. IDK out of all console configs, this seems to be the least straightforward
  12. I have the manuals but keeping those, sorry. I've had them all kept in plastic sheets in a little binder for about as long as I've been collecting. Barely takes up space
  13. Hello, Planning to move & have been downsizing things. I have an almost complete 7800 NTSC game collection (all besides Tank Command), but never focused on keeping boxes when I started collecting in the late 90's. Anyway, I still have a few boxes up in my closet from some games I ordered 7-8 years ago & I'm most likely going to try selling them to save space. Before I started taking pictures and/or list them on Ebay or the marketplace here I figured I'd make a post to see if anyone who collects boxes as well might be needing some of these & would want to work something out with me Here is what I have: Alien Brigade Barnyard Blaster Ikari Warriors Mean 18 Golf (Kinda pains me to get rid of this one, but lol) Meltdown Most are in pretty good shape considering their age, a couple might have a dent or 2 but nothing too major. Some still have a portion of the plastic seal attached; Mean 18 is one of them Stevie
  14. I always wished for the ability to put the helicopter in jail. Especially since when I was little, my Aunt (who passed away a couple years ago) mistakenly told me you could & I used to try to do it... with no success obviously
