  1. Get all the assistance you can as early as possible. Speak to a social worker to find out all the resources that are available. If, as so many unexpectedly find themselves, you are in a position of dealing with this for years, without help it will sap the life from you before you know it and may leave you embittered.
  2. If the discs can truly be read once, before exhibiting errors, that increase with every read, then isn't the most likely cause of damage the head?
  3. Again with eBay whining? Guess what, don't like the price, don't buy it. Don't like that someone bought it and is offering it for a higher price? Too bad. You can always tell who's conducted real world business transactions, and who lives in a fantasyland where they think prices should be 'fair', according to their standard. If the seller has overpriced an item, only they will suffer, no one else, when it doesn't sell. If someone buys it, it wasn't overpriced.
  4. I don't trust cracked RPGs. I don't want to invest dozens of hours into a game to find the game impossible to finish.

  6. With all due respect, you don't have the slightest clue as to how markets work. At the end of the day, these goods are worth what people are willing to pay. If the sellers ask too much, they won't sell. If they were being valued objectively, they'd be worthless. It's easy to see with reasoning like this why there are people who think the government should just step in and dictate prices to make them 'fair'. As far as the epi-pen goes, pharma research is extremely risky, and most results in lost money, often to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. However, miraculous drugs have come as a result of all this speculation and risk taking, and the only way to encourage that, for the good of all, it to reward success if it's achieved. I don't see you willing to step in and cover the losses of failed projects. Unless of course your preferred Soviet style command economy can just "order" its scientists to make a breakthrough...
  7. Consider it hearsay. I also seem to recall that at the 1983 CES Datamost had some seriously scantily clad booth babes and a lecherous Captain Sticky character. The HR director was arrested for pandering!
  8. It was an homage to Star Wars, which began with "Episode IV" in 1977.
  9. In my alternate universe, the 130XE came with a keypad!
