  1. Shouldn't you pick up a real Breakout arcade PCB instead? I have a couple of these (including cabinets) as well as Super Breakout! If memory serves me correctly, I think Wozniak did a remarkable job with the prototype and managed to design the game using only half of the chips, and back in the days that was worth a lot of money for a company like Atari. I also want to say that this is a sad day! I started out with the Apple II in the early eighties and then moved to the MacIntosh when that was introduced, later I "left" Apple for Windows-based PC:s but my heart has always been and still is with Apple. R.I.P., Steve!
  2. Thanks for the reply! I'll have a go at it in a couple of days I think. Meanwhile hopefully someone will reply to this thread with own experience as well and in the end it would perhaps be possible to write a guide.
  3. I bought the "Atari 2600 DIY S-Video, Composite and stereo AV Mod - Complete Kit" from Electronicsentimentalities on Ebay which is (as I understand it) the "BAtari Atari 2600 AV Mod Kit". I know that the kit is for NTSC and so are the instructions but from what I've read before there probably was only the TIA pinouts which would differ, so I thought that it only would be to compare the pinouts of the NTSC and PAL TIAs and then I'd know how to solder it. The problem is that I don't know if I've gotten the right pinouts or if I'm missing something. Attached is the pinout picture I've looked at showing both TIAs and there it seems like there are signals on the NTSC TIA that's missing on the PAL TIA. According to the litte mod PCB I'm supposed to connect the following TIA pins; 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 & 13. Pin 6 (BLK) on the NTSC TIA is the first questionmark, where is that signal on the PAL TIA? The next one is regarding the audio, it seems that the PAL TIA only has one channel, is this a combined version of both audio channels? In that case I can bridge the signal so that I get sound in both connectors (if it's impossible to get stereo out of an PAL TIA that is). My console is a wooden 4-switch CX-2600 AP (manufactured in Hong Kong). Any input on the TIAs or/and on modding a PAL console is appreciated!
  4. Order placed (finally!), really looking forward to this!
  5. Sorry, can't edit it seems so please tell a moderator to remove it. Going back to the orderpage now!
  6. Tried placing an order but got the error message below; xxxxxxxxxxx@comcast.net PayPal cannot process this transaction because of a problem with the seller's website. Please contact the seller directly to resolve this problem. Return to xxxxxxxxxxx@comcast.net At this time, we are unable to process your request. Please return to xxxxxxxxxxx@comcast.net and try another option.
  7. On NA, pretty much every person who moves over $200 a month it seems has got their account put on lock down, or have now had their cash withheld from them. It's only a matter of time before it happens to you, paypal is just out to screw with people today. Hmm, do not you think you're a little naive now? I mean, what would they gain by making it difficult for people to make their transfers when that is the whole idea of PayPal. I have had PayPal from the beginning and have never had any problems with them and I have also transferred large sums of money both ways. PayPal (and other services) are there to make money and they have to make it as easy as possible while still being safe otherwise someone else will take over the top spot.
  8. Hey forum! I would like to buy a Harmony cartridge. From what I can tell by looking at the ordering page, there is no PayPal option and when you try to pay by credit card you have to create a Google account(!), is this true or did I miss something? Is there any other way to order the Harmony cartridge? The AtariAge store does not seem to stock it and I would rather not like to create a Google account since I do all my transactions with PayPal (which I've found to be easy and secure since way back). Also tried looking at Ebay as well but there isn't any sellers there offering the Harmony.. TIA!
