Is there a good retro-arcade in Los Angeles? I'm going to be traveling out there in a month or so, and thinking there has to be one, but I can't find any info on one.
When I met Nolan Bushnell at a trade show several years back, I made it a point to talk to him about the yellow Computer Space game that I had. His eyes lit up and he appeared to genuinely enjoy talking about it. I figured that would be better than all the general questions or Atari talk that he usually got bombarded with.
It's purely a numbers game. They wanted to sell more carts. And because their systems were "superior", people who wanted the best would still buy their systems anyway. No need to intentionally make "inferior" versions... the technology took care of that for them.
In no particular order:
Circus Atari
Missile Command
Superman (better than Adventure... *ducks)
Defender II
Ms Pac Man
River Raid
HERO
Space Invaders
Frogger (Supercharger version is best, but I'd even pick PB if SC games are out)
For my last game I am torn between adding Combat because of it's fun factor, or trying to put in a sports game...either Realsports Baseball or M Network Football
Is there any place where I can see a tutorial about how to fix RF on a 2600 clone console? It doesn't match anything I've seen before, and it went from bad snowy pic that would only work randomly, to no pic at all after trying to fix it using parts from standard 2600 machines.
I got a bunch of games from Big Lots when they did the closeout many, many years ago. One of the games was KLAX, but I didn't realize it was supposed to be PAL only. The box gives no indication that it's PAL, so I am tempted to open it and find out.
If anyone is interested in buying Video Life or Video Reflex, I have loose carts of these available for sale or trade. Please send me a PM email. Thanks.
Do people collect rare 2600 controllers? I have a GIM Fire Command joystick available: .
Please send me a PM email if interested. Thanks. (I have lots of feedback at eBay, CAG and NA.)
