  1. Thanks phaeron, it works like a gem now. I never doubted your excellent emulator once, I knew it would somethig I was doing wrong and a simple setting adjustment. Bought a USB joypad too the other day just to play this emulator, plugged it in, and Altirra recognised it straight away - absolutely first class software - accurate emulation, flexible, with minimum fuss, can't ask for more! I could say this is better than having my orginal 800xl and disc drive back in the day. Now I just have to spend many hours and days building up my AR character to something I had back in the 80's. I never got the chance to play the dungeon back then, so I'm excited and privileged to have a go using your emulator once I'm through with the city. Your hard work and programming skills are very much appreciated. Many thanks again, bluescape
  2. Altirra 1.6 has worked perfectly with every game I've given it, except AR: The City. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, I've tried many different combinations - Firmware: default, 800(OS-B), 800XL - Hardware: 800, 800XL - Memory 64K(XL), 320K. I've also tried playing around with the disk drive settings - SIO patch on / off - Accurate Sector Timing on / off - no burst transfers, but still the same problem: I load Disk 1-1, get the city abduction intro, I've tried choosing (n) new person and (t) temporary person, next decide the stats - all ok. Next it asks for Disk 1-2, again no problem, then finally it asks for Disk 2-1, and after inserting this disk, and pressing start..... nothing! Thinking it could be the discs, I've downloaded 2 different versions of the game in ATR formats from the net, but still exactly the same problem, nothing after inserting Disk 2-2. Has anyone else come across this problem? Is it a simple setting adjustment? Or is AR: The City a known problem in this excellent emulator? I've looked through the forums and 'googled' this topic but cannot find anyone else with this problem, is it just me? I'm running Win7 (64-bit). Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me. I was the proud owner for many years in the early 80's of a Atari 400 and 800XL with disk drive (US doubler) and had the pleasure to play many ground breaking games back in the day - now at the age of 38 despite (advancements!) in gaming, these old games still manage to give the joy they did all those years ago. Lastly, I want to thank Avery Lee (phaeron) for his hard work and dedication in briging his excellent emulator to the masses - fantastic, flexible and easy to use. Thanks bluescape
