Working on P-machinery... A next generation game development framework for Intellivision. Updated 05 May · 0 comments

About Me

I've just completed my first Intellivision game called "Christmas Carol vs. The Ghost Of Christmas Presents."  The game is being manufactured and distributed by Left Turn Only Productions, and debuted at the Classic Gaming Expo 2012, in Las Vegas.

Christmas Carol is a beautiful production of exceptional quality.  The game comes in a custom-molded cartridge shell, adorned with original artwork label.  It comes complete with full-color glossy manual and two authentic hand-controller overlays, all packaged inside an authentic "gate-fold" style box.

Packed with whimsical charm and exciting arcade action, Christmas Carol offers fun for kids and adults alike, and is destined to become an instant classic!

You are on a mission.

The children of the world are counting on you...

...Can you save Christmas?

Intellivision:
I recently joined the Intellivision home-brew community.  Below is some information on my completed and currently active projects:

Completed Projects:

Christmas Carol vs. The Ghost Of Christmas Presents
You must guide Carol through the dark and frozen cave and help her retrieve all the presents before the Evil Snowman returns, and without attracting too much attention from the Ghost Of Christmas Presents.

Currently Active Projects:

P-Machinery v1.0: Game Engine & Development Framework
A simple game engine and basic framework to facilitate Intellivision game development.  Version one offers a very basic game skeleton, complete with multi-state game machine and task scheduler; and encapsulates controller-input decoding.  A host of macros simplify most common tasks, such as variable and graphics RAM management, and machine state transitions.

P-Machinery v2.0: Game Engine & Development Framework (in progress)
I'm currently working on a more ambitious project that will offer a complete development framework, including sprite and animation drivers, music tracker, and sound effects engine.  It will also support ECS keyboard decoding.  The intention is to simplify and accelerate the development of new games, and lower the barriers to entry for beginners.
