  1. Replace all the capacitors in the system and the audio will return to normal. Here's a guide on how to replace them and what replacement caps you should use. The guide says that you can replace a few of the caps if you just want to fix the audio, but I would recommend replacing all of the caps so that your Duo will last longer. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, PM me and I'll replace the caps for you. Thanks ApolloBoy! So how complicated is this procedure? Does it require disassembling the hole circuit board assembly from the outer plastic case housing? I do have the security bit to open my Duo, which I have done, but I'm not exactly certain on the procedure to remove the "caps". Mac
  2. Hello all Turbo fans! My name is Bruce, but most people call me "Mac". I'm new to the group but have been a Turbo Duo/Grafx fan/collector for almost 20 years now. Recently I got my Duo out from hibernation as my 19 year old son wanted to play it, (imagine that eh? especially since we also have an Xbox 360 and a Nintendo Wii as well) and discovered the sound quality is not up to snuff anymore when using the CD drive. For example, Dragon Slayer, the sound does works but when the BGM (Battle Game Mode?) option is selected to CD, the sound is very very faint. Also, well when "wandering around" in fields, caves, etc, same thing very very faint sound. Now when the BGM mode is set @ PSG, the sound quality is fine, but kinda cheesy, so I never used to that mode in the past and prefer not to now either. Anybody know what my problem might be? BTW, music CD's sound kinda crappy too and I have eliminated the possibilities that it is the TV and the AV cable. So I know for sure that it is the Duo that is the problem. Comments/feedback would be much appreciated, thanks Mac.
