  1. In a relatively recent podcast, Wade admitted the company wasn't profitable. I'm neutral on the whole stock thing, what someone wants to invest their money in is up to them. From my own observation, Wade has put a lot on the line for Atari: his own family money, AtariAge, Nightdive Studios and now Digital Eclipse. I think 2024 will be a crucial year as to whether they become profitable. If Atari 2600+, 400Mini, and a System Shock console release can't get them at least in black, I'd be a little concerned.
  2. So, is this able to play original carts like the 2600+? "with support for cartridge, disk and cassette ROMs."
  3. If I were Wade Rosen, I'd... Have Digital Eclipse take over reimagined games. Vctr Sctr, Haunted Houses, Neo Breakout were all much better in my opinion than what the external studios have done. Nightdive continue doing what they're doing and focus on releasing games like that. Continue their relationship with Graphite Lab as Kombinera and Mr. Run & Jump are excellent -- very promising development studio. Unfortunately, I'd agree to drop the VCS and focus on the 2600+. Have @Albert take over the XP program, ensure quality control.
  4. I would suspect they are going to sell what remaining stock they have, and maybe release games until the end of 2024. That would be a four year run, which is decent for a micro console that doubles as a PC device.
  5. I think for the next financial result, we'll see a much better financial situation as it will account for the Atari 2600+ sales (over 50,000+ for the console alone), System Shock release on consoles, Turok + more Nightdive, Digital Eclipse game sales). This report looked bad because it stopped at September.
  6. It was high under Chesnais because he was licensing out to pretty much anything, even if it diluted the brand.
  7. I wouldn't go that far. I think the short term loss is potentially setting up a long term revival. The right moves are being made with acquisitions, of course, Atari had to take on the debt to make those acquisitions. But, considering he took over when a lot of valuable IP had been sold and the focus was on crypto... We'll see.
  8. From what I understand, they have increased debt from the acquisitions, but the acquisitions like Nightdive are increasing the revenue. I think the 2600+ will definitely help on the revenue side, but for games, Atari needs to produce and make more games like Atari 50, or more along the lines of Nightdive's System Shock. The indie level games like Days of Doom, or the Recharged lineup just don't seem to be selling. 2024 will be a make or break for the company in my opinion. Continued success of the 2600+, System Shock release for consoles, and hopefully Atari starts releasing titles that are beyond "indie" category.
  9. Imagine if there was a factory worker there on the verge of retirement who made an original when he/she first started? "I've seen this before..."
  10. Can I wager Wade Rosen received #1?
  11. Atari would need something a long lines of another Atari 50, or a AA game like System Shock to really compete for these kinds of awards. Mr. Run & Jump was good, but it's more of an indie title.
  12. I'd honestly have to go with Food Fight. Granted it's a 7800 title, but it's the one game that made me interested in playing old Atari games back in the early 2000s' (I was a pre-teen at the time).
  13. Adventure II (homebrew) – 2600 Bowling – 2600 Double Dunk – 2600 Maze Craze – 2600 Miniature Golf – 2600 MotoRodeo – 2600 Aquaventure (prototype) – 2600 Save Mary (prototype) – 2600 Super Football – 2600 Return to Haunted House (homebrew) – 2600 Circus Atari – 2600 Warbirds – Lynx https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/atari-50-adds-12-new-games-in-an-update-bringing-the-total-to-115/
  14. PowerDubs is an investor of Atari, and a serial number gives an idea of how many units have been sold. Although, Atari should be releasing an annual report with that information.
  15. I fully recommend you find old carts on eBay like Ms. Pac-Man. Word of advice for old carts, you may need a Q tip and isopropyl alcohol to clean the pins.
