  1. What kind of connections does it have on it? I think that one of the Atari computers had a video switcher interface. Probably to compete with the Amiga. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  2. Are you playing at normal (slow) speed, or other turbo (fast)? I usually get about 100,000 to 120,000 on an average game set on fast. I suck and hate the slow speed. I just call the slow version Just-Shoot-Me-Man. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  3. The monitor looks nice and bright and the cabinet look real clean. Nice score!
  4. SID uses buttons, not a joystick. It is also a black & white monitor with a mirror, so this is not a good cabinet to bastardize and ruin.
  5. Just make sure that the game plays okay and all of the sounds are there. I would suggest getting the multi board by Braze Technology. Lots of fun games in it, so you will not get as bored with it. Just a warning: I have spent more on repairs on my SID than I have on my 5 games!
  6. Keep your eyes and ears out. It looks like Walter Day is traveling the country to take group pictures for the Ottumwa, IA Time Capsule (home of Twin Galaxies). I just took part in the Chicago area picture this past weekend and they will be at the Orlando International Airport on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 1 PM Outside the King of Kong Arcade. The time capsule will be opened on August 8, 2071 an they are trying to capture the first generation of video game players, while they are still alive.
  7. I guess he may try again next Easter. It's kind of confusing with the lives, since when you get a large number it is a mixture of a letter and a number. His friends were supposed to take turns keeping him awake and watching his extra lives. Someone wasn't paying attention!
  8. I just saw that Tim McVey is going to try to take back the Nibbler worlds record this weekend and you can watch on-line: This Saturday, September 3, 2011, Tim McVey of Oskaloosa, Iowa will be attempting to regain the world record on a video arcade game called Nibbler. Tim is known as the first video gamer to reach over one billion points on an arcade game using a single credit back in January 1984. Not only is McVey playing to regain his title, Star Worlds Arcade in DeKalb, IL is coordinating an effort to encourage cash donations to Child’s Play as a show of support for Tim’s efforts. Child’s Play is a game industry charity that, since 2003, is dedicated to improving the lives of sick children with toys and games in a network of over 60 hospitals worldwide. Live video of the attempt at a new world record will be streamed on-line from McVey’s home via Star Worlds Arcade and other web sites. A donation link will be available on the Star Worlds Arcade web site that will allow the funds to be donated directly to Child’s Play. Patrick O’Malley, owner of Star Worlds Arcade, encourages donations of any amount toward the charity. The organization purchases everything from video games to movies and toys for needy, hospitalized children. O’Malley hopes to raise at least $1,000 for the charity during the next two weeks. He says, “Donations of any amount, even $10.00 to purchase batteries for those toys, would be appreciated.” Star Worlds Arcade is a classic video arcade that was recently inducted into the Twin Galaxies International Registry of Historic Video Game Arcades as one of history’s original Golden Age Arcades from the 1980s. McVey expects to reach his goal after over 40 hours of marathon game play. The donation link on Star Worlds Arcade web page will remain active until September 17. More information about Child’s Play can be found on their web site at www.childsplaycharity.org.
  9. For Auction...eventhough it is a BIN (Buy It Now)... Glad to see you around again Cassidy
  10. What arcades do you know of that were around in the 80's and are still around today? I presented this question in another forum and these are the arcades that were given: Star Worlds Arcade in DeKalb, IL Amusement center in Milford, CT SS Billiards in Hopkins, MN wizards kingdom in Manitowoc (technically a chain) Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor, Michigan Playland Arcade at the Santa Monica boardwalk Flipper McCoy's in Virginia Beach. Boomers in South Florida (formerly Grand Prix Race O Rama and Grand Prix Golf O Rama) What other ones are there?
  11. Cool info. Also, nice site and collection!
  12. Hmmmm, seems like a double standard (can't play arcade only games that are not available in MAME) but okay.
  13. I have a timer and at three minutes I stop and look at my score. That's what the three minute variation is, or is it something else? If it's not, just remove my scores.
