I was in a compromised position where I had to sell my Atari collection to buy a car when I lost my job in 2012. Sorry I didn't get more out of it for the community. Then Kurt died, and well - here we are. It was fun while it lasted!

Curt is a good guy, personal life issues. I got out of the Atari scene long ago when I sold all my stuff, was sad at first but really haven’t looked back. Once or twice a year I peak in to find cool stuff, like the corvus emulator in altirra. Life is short guys, make the best of it.

if I can recall, the interface just polls the drive and after a set time limit, in true "corvus network" fashon it would say something like "network offline" - I think you can see it flash for a moment in one of those videos I posted. Before I figured out how to write the firmware to a drive to fix it after a low level format I would see that message all the time. Thanks to everyone who made it possible for me to enjoy a fantastic piece of computing history, and to all you guys keeping it alive for the foreseeable future. And thank you FJC!

That's a pretty solid idea. I can just run a few drives a day and hope for the best. Unfortuantely I need to brush up on raid as the old file server was decommissioned and someone pulled all the drives out if it. That's probably where the data is going to be.

On a not so funny side note... Shortly before I joined Atariage, I purchased $20 in bitcoin. It was something like a quarter of a cent per coin, so I have 8000 bitcoins lying around on a computer. Fast forward to the present, and here I am, looking for my wallet.dat file. There are literally hundreds of drives still sitting in stacks of computers at my location. To top it off, there is a chance that I could have hidden my wallet.dat in a file or (hopefully) zipped it up. Im an infrastructure architect, with tons of backups lying around. Was I too secretive? Did I record the file somewhere safe to be lost forever? Old 256MB flash drive? Roaming profile? Old desktop? The feeling is completely overwhelming and its difficult to think straight. What do I do?

It's too bad about the 815, the board was clearly designed to support DSDD floppies, but they opted to leave the second RW head and supporting electronics unpopulated on the PCB. See for yourself - http://atariage.com/forums/topic/186285-atari-815-whats-inside/

I remember on the front and back of the box was the front and back of the unpopulated PCB. Has anyone scanned the Ramrod box?
