  1. As a kid, the 99/4A was my first "real computer". My dad bought a Timex Sinclair 1000 to start with that almost immediately was returned to the store and then got the 4A. The 4A was $310 from Kmart, and was shortly before they started dropping the price (Of this I am quite certain since my dad complained that he had lost a good bit of money on it when they dropped the price). I guess that would have been early 1983 and I would have been 7 by that time. I worked my way through a bunch of the type in programs in the manuals that came with it, played a bunch of Parsec, TI Invaders, and Munch Man. Learned a lot from it.
  2. I've beat a lot of Lucasfilm games back in the day, but I confess I never really played Maniac Mansion or Zak McCraken. Off the top of my head: Three Money Island games Loom Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis Day of the Tentacle Sam & Max All those were a lot of fun.
  3. What do the ends of your cable look like? Pics?
  4. Here's another dumb p-system question. Presumably all graphics and sounds extensions were done after the fact or was there a standard library or API in the p-system for that?
  5. Apologies if this was covered earlier... but what are the differences between IV.0 and IV.2.2 (which according to Wikipedia is the latest)?
  6. Why are you worried about the ADAM with "all its flaws"? It's a pretty neat system.
  7. Wow, never seen a boxed copy of that one. It's a fun game.
  8. My understanding is that when Tramiel took over Atari, Warner's Atari was losing money hand over fist and the first thing he did when he came in was to clean house to the bone leaving about 10% of the staff.... on top of being notoriously cheap. Should note though that Tramiel never had anything to do with Atari Games (the arcade division), only the home division.
  9. Better late than never. Been real busy with vacations and jobs around the house. Finally got a chance to post a binary for Windows. I have to consolidate the various different OS builds together in the release, but this should get you going. https://github.com/geoffdaddy/adamem_sdl/releases/tag/2.1g
  10. Ah sorry, didn't realize it was a Windows tool. Carry on.
  11. It was definitely one of my favorite or my favorite games when I was a little kid for sure.
  12. Just a suggestion... I'd probably target a modern-day tool instead of a dos one for the generated results, z88dk or the like. Good job though!
  13. Which assembler are you using to feed the sources back through?
