  1. Resolved trouble audio also. Audio in (hole 1) have to be solder on third resistor from right on first row! There is not much difference compared to rfu, but the advantage is that there aren't interferences! When I was a kid I used to play with the Atari during the night, and during day when visualized well, it was an event! (too much TV interference in my area or television was bad trademark!).Thanks to helped me!
  2. Thank you Shawn. Work is almost complete. Now working video but without audio, and a noise hear when rca jack is connected. Perhaps because at the moment there is the condenser ceramic wrong? Or... Wires colours I used: Ground=withe Audio (hole 5)=red Audio (hole 1)=orange Video=green (in some image seem yellow) +5v (vcc?)=Rose This is final rca control unit schematic:
  3. Thanks, but sincerely I'm not understood I tried with rfu soldered again for check if it is able working in dual mode (rfu and rca together), but it isn't possible, or rfu is working or rca is working, so I'm sure rfu must be removed (but I don't broken rfu box, it is useful as part repair). This was when little smoke escaped from rfu box! I removed also first and second right resistances in top first row, and second resistances in bottom second row like this guide (when I back home I wil post photos). See page 14: http://www.coolretroprojects.com/Atari_2600_AV_Mod_Installation_Guide.pdf But I think is necessary solder a ceramic condenser (47 k ?) instead the resistance, and solder the AUDIOIN wire in leg below the ceramic condenser.
  4. ... pin 2= +5v / pin 3= video aut. Soldered like picture a little smok escaped from rfu box.(Although it still works, it tried for more than 20 minutes after the smoke came out!). So I'm sure for schematic control unit. Contacts are not oxidate yet. So, make this rca mod is still possible!!!
  5. Thank you. But mine is an Atari L4 switches and the sheme I'm having to do it by myself. Do not read fine corresponding pins audio, video and VCC because they are hidden by welding points.I am doubtful for the pins 2 and 3. Crazy things!
  6. Note: the Atari 2600 is pal version-
  7. Hy modder guys. I have a Atari 2600 darth veder awared me by an old school frined. I wish to make a simple rca mod. I bought the little rca control unit (7 wires), it seem stereo, because guy sold me it, gave me two rca female connectors. I already desolder rfu box and q201 transistor, as recommended by a guide online to avoid, interferences (I try Atari putting rfu box again and it work fine yet) But there is a little trouble: the guy who sold me the rca kit, It was not provided any schematic for this specific rca control unit. On line I have found several different schemes, but not corresponding to this specific unit!!! Who can help me? Rca control unit: Motherboard ready tomod: Complete rca kit:
  8. Bought at Christmas time 1982 (or even 1981, I can not remember accurately). Italian PAL.
  9. I want to realize it a lot! The cartridge remaked and fixed of Pac-Man 1981. The rom that I want redump on physical eprom is "pac-man (hack.bin)", in this rom I'd change the date with BitHacker(was 1999 and I put 1981). This is the revisioned of pac-man with original maze very similar at its arcade version, as would been programmed in backtime! The rom is this: Download now rom to redump! (try with Atari Stella emulator) The label to put on chase is this: The top label is this: Do you understand what I want realize? There would be someone who would try build this cartridge?
  10. ehm... I want to realize it a lot! (so it's correct!) ...By jean louis: the tms2532 of texas instruments is not a same of 2732, a11 is pin 18 of tms but a11 is on pin 21 of 2732. @ jean louis: But for use tms2532ajl, what is the binary address I have to start program? Do you know I need an adapter for my programmer to ability it for those eprom series? Or it's impossible with my programmer? Thanks! http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4312
  11. I like reprogramming Atari 2600 cartridige and restoration them. But I've a problem with EPROM TMS2532Ajl (The only easily findable after 2716 or 2732 series) I use GQ-4X universal programmer (Willem derivative) and it supports these TMS2532JL eprom series. The utility is GQ USB Prg Re6.00. It read them and the blank check and verify are ok. I load games.bin, I click on "write eprom" but when it reach at 4% of the writing process, I gives me the following error: "write failure, Adress=0x000000, Buffer=0xE7, Device=0xFF" . What is the mistake? The rom that I want redump on physical eprom is "pac-man (hack.bin)", in this rom I'd change the date with BitHacker(was 1999 and I put 1981). 12. Originally, what eproms (24 pin) was using the Atari factory in the years 70-80? The serial numbers of the original Atari eproms (24-pin always) referred to other serial numbers by the Atari factory invented (for example, the serial number began with CO or CX etc...). What eproms precisely coincide among those actually on the market?
  13. So I need to modify the programmer. But I don't know what kind of modification I have to do. If I need put a device to increase the voltage without damage to the programmer, or a simple adapter to put on the ZIF socket. In the forum willem there insn't a specific solution for my programmer ! TMS2532JL EPROMS are 100% on compatibility list of this programmer, and they are blank and not dameged (I tested them, and if someone of these was not blank, the programmer was displaying error message, only two of these was not blank).
  14. My Willem programmer is this: http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4312 It is not parallel and for 60% is almost automatic, and supports both USB and the power supply. The eprom 27c16 24 pin has regularly programmed, but I was wrong in the starting string address(I know that I should start from a string around A0 of code), but this eprom is a single write and hard to find. I found a series of 10 eprom tms2532jl 24 pin, in a store and they sold me all for 20 € (about U.S. $ 26.27) and I would like to take advantage of these. Perhaps I should try increasing the voltage from the power supply 9v to 12v? Or so I should damage the programmer? Or about the setting?
  15. HI. I'm new. I'm Italian and Excuse my English! I like reprogramming Atari 2600 cartridige and restoration them.
