Question about the Control demo an 16mhz 65816

Tue Feb 19, 2013 6:44 AM

I just watched this demo. Its amazing. Programmed on an Atari 8bit with the 65816 chip at 16Mhz. Thats double !!! as the ATari ST 68000 that was only 8mhz.

I myselve once had an Atari 130XE with a 65816 for a programming project. I lent it from John Maris, who is also a member of this forum. But because i had almost no documentation about the 65816 i did not much about it. I tried some things, but nothing came from it.

Look at this demo, and tell me what you think about this upgrade (65816) ?

here is the youtube video of this demo. The name of the demo is "Control"

8bit music videos on youtube (Atari and others)

Wed Oct 17, 2012 3:29 AM

Hi folks, as a neo-cyberpunk in 2012, and also an old Atarian from the 80s, (you might know me from the High-Tech team), i love seeing 8bit music videos..

to start this topic here is one:

I dont know for sure, but i think the screen is an Atari 8bit screen. Do you like the re-mix ?

I do.

so, fellow Atarians, this topic is about music videos that are inspired or made by an Atari 8-bit....

PS: also videos of Atari 8bit demos on youtube are very very welcome.....

Atari in movies and films

Sat Sep 22, 2012 3:22 AM

I found some websites that have nice information about a lot of movies , that feature shots of an Atari computer. Atari 8bit, but also Atari ST/STE/Falcon.

remember Terminator , where the kid used an Atari to hack the bank account machine ?

Here is one of the websites that has info about this subject:

Using the Atari 8bit to surf the internet

Wed Sep 5, 2012 2:05 AM

Has anybody experience with "Using the Atari 8bit to surf the internet" ?

I guess, that youtube is out of the question, but a parser, that only displays the text of the webpages where you can also click to use the hyperlinks ?

Is that possible, or is the Atari too slow for this ?

I use my Athlon dualcore 2800MHz pc to surf the internet, but when i would have an Atari 8bit again, i prefer to use my Atari to surf the internet...

why ?

Because then i am
independant from Micro$$$oft Windaws.....

and can throw all my Intel and AMD machines out of the window into the garbage bin, and become a
happy camper with my trusty Atari XL/XE computer.... that can use the internet.....
