  1. lonesome- while, i am pretty sure we could do an exchange i wanted to see what sort fo interest there was out there. nothing is set yet. i wanted to see how much shipping is (it's quite heavy) before i made any certainties too.
  2. thanks everyone for the help. i understand about the adapter. i got all the links, it makes sense. i get it. my only question left then is all i need a regular male ended rca cord to go from the box to the adapter to the tv. that is, it's just a regualr rca cord yes? i don't need any special atari switch or anything right?
  3. what do you mean by "switch" the switch? the first product has the irignal game rca input but also another coaxial input. could i put the game switch i have now into that? the reason i ask this is because i actually do not have the original rca connection for the atari. so if i can't it looks like i need to get that somehow as well as one of these adapters that you gave a link for. but if i can just put the game switchbox into this other switchbox then i wouldn't have to hunt down an origianl atari rca...
  4. ok so the game converter that i have is listed on radioshack here: http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cata...%5Fid=15%2D1267 hopefully that link will work. anyway, it goes right into the game and makes the connector coaxial but still 75 ohms. so i guess my questions is should i get another adapter or just try to take this one out and find the real original atari connecter then get the cheap adpater that makes is coaxial AND 300 ohms?
  5. i stuck this sorta haphazardly into a different trade post but i really need regular 2600 joysticks so i'd be willing to buy them. i don't have much to trade yet, except the mentioned ti-99 in another post but i'd be interested in a purchase if anyone has any extras...
  6. hey, just wondering if anyone out there is interested in a ti-99/4a in exchange for whatever really. i'm interested particularly in atari joysticks, games, nes games and perhaps even an old atari rca connector (still trying to figure out this problem i'm having). i have all the original boxes and packing, tv hookup (need adapter for new tvs), manuals, and even original receipts. 7 games: hustle, parsec, alien addition, munch man, othello, ti invaders, and early learning fun and all their manuals (another manual for tombstone city 21st century but no game). here's a picture of the whole thing but you can look at other pictures of various parts here: http://sophia.smith.edu/~ahector/ti99-pots/ti99-2.jpg http://sophia.smith.edu/~ahector/ti99-pots/ti99-3.jpg http://sophia.smith.edu/~ahector/ti99-pots/ti99-4.jpg http://sophia.smith.edu/~ahector/ti99-pots/ti99-5.jpg http://sophia.smith.edu/~ahector/ti99-pots/ti99-6.jpg reply here or email. especially good if you live in new england or mid-atlantic region but let me know whoever.
  7. i think the original rca is goen however, and the new game switch goes inside the console. i'm not sure exactly how its attached, it's definitely not just plugged in but could possible be taken off somehow. but that leaves just a part inside the console adn no cord comeing out whatesoever so there's nothing to adapt. i would need the original cord back. does this make sense? has anyone seen this before? maybe i'm just misunderstanding...that's definitely possible too.
  8. oh god i have practically nothing, just raiders of the lost ark and combat.
  9. people here are so helpful and yet i still get confused. ok, what it has now is an archer automatic tv/game switch, but it goes right into the console. when i took it apart it looks like it's not easy to take out, and whatever originally was there isn't anymore anyhow. is there any solution to this? thanks.
  10. we had value village where i used to live in portland, or and they were great. boy do i miss them...thrifting in new england just isn't the same.
  11. i just got the atari and so don't have any atari games for trade but i have that ti system i listed previously and any of those games...
  12. i got handed a vader atari this weekend for free, because i am a good home woohoo! (and i will appreciate it after pining for it through my youth). it already has a coaxial cable attachment so i can hook it right up to my new tv. however, i think it might still need an adapter because the picture is super fuzzy when i turn it on (does this have to do with the different ohms that tvs are now?). anyway, just wanted to know if anyone know what kind of adapter to get in this case... (one male/one female coaxial cable end) thanks!
  13. just got a 2600 this weekend and it came with 4 paddles but no joysticks, so if anyone has an extra 2 joysticks i can give them 2 paddles. (i have 2 with tennis icons and 2 with driving icons. are they different? i don't really know...)
  14. i actually obtained a console this weekend so i'm no longer in need of one but i'd still be willing to trade for other things. i need joysticks, games (common is fine, whatever is fun) and NES games too. i might put up a different post too.
  15. i would probably take you up on the vader. do you have any extras of a couple games or anything? there's not a super lot of places to get them around here. anyway, lets give it a few more days. thanks for replying.
