#4187806 Composite Video Mod (in console)

Posted by OX. on Mon Dec 31, 2018 4:03 PM

yes, it is possible to manage the composite signal from the modulators, here you can find step by step guide we created some years ago for doing the modifies:
http://www.ti99iuc.i...=Mod_and_Tuneed

i think it is the easier way to obtain a composite signal from a PAL TI99.

without the modulator you can just use some converter from Component YUV2 to Composite.

It seems this is my final option, iv'e tried making a din to component cable (the output is stripey on my lcd tv as was the same as your cable Ciro), I also bought a converter box to see it that would help - it didn't.  The only problem I have with the composite mod for my plastic modulator box is it looks a bit Heath Robinson, but hey if it works .. it works, so I'll look to get some components to do the mod and get it sorted.

@Schmitzi wow! :-o

Christmas just came early, an Editor/Assembler cart you say?  Yes and how abouts :- Alpiner, Munchman, Disk Manager 2, TI Invaders, Adventure and Terminal Emulator II !!

A great (and unexpected) mix of useful utility and classic game carts.

Mega thanks, OX :-D

I only have the Extended Basic cart with my 99 and could use an Editor/Assembler cart if anyone has a spare, I don't see these come up on Ebay in the UK I think it's a case of everyone just has the one E/A cart with their system.

#4150894 Ebay seller, anyone from here?

All of his TI99/4A stuff is extortionately priced, I can't imagine he actually sells anything.

#4045071 Asteroids clone called "Enigma"

Posted by OX. on Sat Jun 9, 2018 5:44 AM

I found 5 versions of Asteroids in the TI Gamebase, but no Enigma for the TI using multiple search methods.  A Google search brings up your original post.  Could this possibly have been for another platform or a local program that never made it out into the wild?

You'll not find in the Gamebase as I didn't put it in originally, I want for the next release.

Oh, you mean like the one shown below?  Yeah, they work, but they look like gallery_35324_1027_5891.jpg

Well, that's the alternative - or - hack another hole in the side of the TI's case and add another joystick port.

#3993000 Gamebase TI99/4A Version 2.1

Posted by OX. on Sat Mar 24, 2018 5:22 PM

Last version was 2.1 which can be downloaded from here - https://drive.google...bMIWpj1-FAOB-XH

I had a version 2.3 in development but lost it when a HD got wiped out, there is however now version 3 in development and coming along some time icon_wink.gif

I own the real hardware now and would like to use the Gamebase files on modern loading solutions like finalGrom and Nanopeb some day.

#3964678 I've finally gone and done it

Posted by OX. on Fri Feb 16, 2018 6:29 PM

I bought a TI99/4a (UK Pal)!

So what else will I need?  I was thinking maybe a PAL video lead, a modern sd loading solution and a speech module?

Help and Ideas please.

#3843712 How to remove yellowing from an old Atari case

Posted by OX. on Fri Sep 8, 2017 4:33 PM

There's a new technique for removing discolouration from old computer casings as shown by The 8-bit Guy using an ozone generator and uv light, so no more random streaking effects :)

Well turns out it was the RIOT chip, I borrowed the replacement from my non-working 2600 Jr. so now I need to get hold of a working TIA and RIOT to get the Jr. working again.

#3325212 Half bitmap mode

Related to my previous post, I have sometimes wondered how we would make the bridge in Commando so that the main sprite would move under the bridge without being semi-transparent.

The answer is, of course, to close the gap in the bridge with 2x4 high-priority sprites, which will make the sprites that move beneath it completely invisible, like when I turn off 5th sprite detection in the 5th sprite video above. You could still have characters under the sprites to allow for more detail.

Ooh, does this mean we may have a TI99 version of Commando in the coming future Rasmus? ;-)
