  1. Stella will detect and automatically map the PDL adaptor. I would expect you should then be able to map the Hyperkin in Stella->Options->Input Settings->Event Mappings to Right Joystick Up/Down/Left/Right/Fire. If that is not working, then I have to refer you to ask the Stella developers for help. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  2. Thanks, I had not heard of "Let's encrypt". I was not wanting to have to pay an additional annual fee to the site host for a root certificate. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  3. Yes, should be smoother than that. Yes, I make and sell the 2600-adapter's. The site is HTTP, not HTTPS. I don't see the site needs HTTPS as the actual checkout is done via PayPal which is HTTPS. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  4. Have you checked for this in other games? I don't have my original 2600 setup right now to check, but this might just be a quirk of super-breakout. I find the paddle response of super-breakout to be extra sensitive compared to other paddle games. In Kaboom!, the buckets will rhythmically sway back and forth while waiting for the player to start - that is just a quirk of that game. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  5. Thanks for the vid. Not as obvious as in the other posted vid, but do see some shakiness. I don't think it is the adapter, but the 2 paddles are on 2 separate inputs, so would be possible for there to be an adapter problem that only affects one paddle. A vid on what to expect (using AtGames Flashback 8 paddles) - http://2600-daptor.com/VID20240216092020.mp4 The server that 2600-daptor is hosted on is throttled, so down-load and watch off your device to avoid video buffering. Happy to swap adapters with you if you like, though would really be surprised if this is the adapter. EDIT: Just to add, this is Stella 6.7.1 and Win 11 x64. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  6. Just saw this vid had been previously posted. Something like this is mostly like the paddle controller - could be the pot or loose connection. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  7. Can you provide a video of the jitter, or describe in more detail what you are seeing? Sometimes I think "jitter" gets used as a generic term. To me, jitter is the player quickly dancing back & forth on screen when the paddle controller is stationary. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  8. By rest mode, do you mean sleep? Also have a Win 11 laptop and the adapter still works after the laptop wakes up. When the adapter stops working, is it's LED still flashing? Are you checking it with joy.cpl? Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  9. My 2600-daptors are automatically recognized by Stella. If you want to use a different emulator, then you will likely need to set it up in that emulator's configuration/input mapping. You will need two adapters for 2 joysticks or 3/4 paddles. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  10. The adapter does not generate event codes. It uses USB HID in which a bit map of the current button ON/OFF states is sent. Spinner is via HID mouse which is delta X/Y movement and a bit map of the button states. Conversion to event codes is done in the O/S and the codes are probably particular to that O/S. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  11. If you are only wanting to use the 2600 joysticks, then either the 2600-PDL or 2600-II. Difference between those is just what other controllers they also support. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  12. What is "proper"? The RetroArch controller mapping is designed for 90's & up A/B/X/Y gamepads and older controllers don't necessarily fit that. Wouldn't you map based on the controller you are using with the adapter and your personal preferences for menu navigation? Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  13. I don't have the 2600+, so I can't comment. Lag can come from other sources, like the video display. The original 2600 hardware sent every pixel directly to the TV screen. Newer video works with frames that are typically buffered and thus introduce delay in the video display. The ??? is because I learned that there can be a paddle jitter problem with the 2600-D9 when using on computers/systems that are not grounded. There is a section at the upper part of the web-site about this. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  14. Yes, you can connect 2 2600-PDL's for 2 joysticks, 4 paddles. Technically any USB adapter will add some bit of lag as the adapter is some extra electronics in-between the controller and emulation. The question is if it is enough to be noticeable or not. I believe my adapters are the only ones that run at USB full speed and transmit the controller data 8 times fast than others only run at USB low speed. Colecovision controllers are partially 2600 compatible - the joystick U/D/L/R and 1st button work, the 2nd button and keypad will not work. I also have the 2600-D9 that supports Colecovision controllers. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/
  15. Oh, I think the attached is the config file I used. It has be some time since I messed with Mister, so possible it is out of date. This would be for the II & PDL Change the PID in the file name to use with the original. Tom http://2600-daptor.com/ input_04d8_f947_v3.map
