  1. I've been away from AA for a while due to some personal crises that hit all at once. I'm back now, no worse for wear! I'm in a new place and have some room now to set up my collection, so I took some pics. This isn't a permanent "display" but I just wanted to get them set up well enough so my kids and I could play them.
  2. Ack!!! I must find time to play! I shall return with my pathetic "high" score, LOL.
  3. Happy 4th of July atari gal. Astrosmash is up at Intellivision score club,

I know I should give that one a go soon! You should play too if you're not busy.

  4. Looks like they have some on Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26x%3D0%26ref_%3Dnb_sb_noss%26y%3D0%26field-keywords%3Dferrite%2520bead%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%23&tag=atariage&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957
  5. Uh oh--I have Vista too. Is this a known incompatibility thing? I was about to get my Harmony cart.
  6. Hey, my thread is still going! I haven't had much time to play lately since we've been super busy with real life stuff. (Real Life -- It Sucks [tm]) Things are settling down now though so I should be able to break out the Astrosmash again soon.
  7. That's a good list for us newbies to drool over.
  8. As someone who's relatively clueless about modern gaming, here's the impression I get from what I see on TV about it via their own commercials: war, fantasy-war, war, war, horror, war, war, horror-fantasy-war, war, death, war games. And, once in a while, a sports title. I'm not interested in the realistic first person shooter type games, and my kids NO WAY would play those type of games--they won't even WATCH scary or violent movies. I'm not going to spend $300 to play a lone annual NBA game. So, it doesn't seem like an xbox or PS3 would be worth it for us. If the game makers want to reach a broader audience, they're going to have to change their ad tactics because that's the impression I think a lot of people have of the current systems, minus the Wii. Maybe there are more games besides the violent ones, but you never hear about them!
  9. I'm 38 and I don't know anyone my age who thinks video games are just for kids. With games rated "M for mature" it's hard to imagine anyone who watches TV and sees commercials having that impression these days. I guess I could see elderly people who didn't grow up with video games thinking that way, though.
  10. I'd be a few hundred dollars richer, which doesn't sound so bad until you look at how long I've been here.
  11. I tried leaving bizarre (but nice) feedbacks for a while but no one seemed to notice... so I'm back to the old boring standbys, "Honest seller, quick shipping, thanks so much." Oh well.
  12. Our local thrift shops never have old video games, so he can't be blamed there. Looks like a great collection. I agree, you neeeeeed an Intellivision.
  13. I don't see anything wrong with the bids. Looks like Bob's bidding was gradual to me--after Chris and the others posted higher bids, Bob raised his own bids by $5 or so. What am I missing?
  14. My oldest active address is from 1997. My addresses before that were with schools I am no longer in, or ISP's that no longer exist.
