  1. Hello Mr. Kaplan,

Hope you and your love ones are enjoying your summer and keeping your BBQ grill active!

    Anthony Durso....

  2. Happy Birthday there Larry, just remember, you don't get older you just get wiser

Have a round of KABOOM on me

  3. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Keep on having fun!

  4. Hello Mr. Kaplan,

Wishing you a Happy Holidays and a sincere new year for you and your family. See you in 2011.

    Anthony....

  5. Thank you again Mr. Kaplan. Enjoy your Thanksgiving if we part way in commanding in the immediate future!

    Anthony....

  6. Congratulations Atarian7. That is quite an impressive achievement. 100 patches! Larry
  7. Hey, congrats Jacob! Sorry I don't have any patches. Will a picture of one do?

  8. Got the hang of Kaboom! I managed to get just under 4,000! patch me... hahah :D I used the loose-a-bucket on purpose technique.

  9. Thanks for the comments. Between you and Atarian7 I expect someone to achieve nirvana! If you play Kaboom! long enough, keep the paddle steady, keep your eyes on the bombs, don't blink and never let the bomber smile, you will attain true enlightenment and discover the four noble truths: playing the game is suffering, we suffer because we want a better score, we suffer more because it seems unattainable, to eliminate suffering we must get a higher score, therefore, the path is to keep playing games and never stop. Play on grasshopper!
  10. well, think of the people here who program the machines i mentioned and and do 6502/6507 games programming on them as 'mini activisions', only difference being is that whilsdt they might not have the 'financial clout' activision did, they do have access to free distribution sources and advanced hardware tricks activision didn't have

  11. Anything is possible. But one of the reasons Activision games were good was that we sat in one lab, talked to each other, helped each other, and played each other's games all the time. It would be hard to do a game on my own.

  12. Seeming as though you used to program in 6507/6502 code, is there any possibility you might regain your interest in game programming and program some homebrew games for the 26/52 and 7800 as well as A8/c64 etc...people will LOVE your games again

  13. And you know that today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day:

    http://travel.usatoday.com/destinations/dispatches/post/2010/09/arrrr-ye-ready-for-talk-like-a-pirate-day/114728/1

Fifteen men on a dead man's chest — Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!

  14. Yes, I based Kaboom on Avalance by Dennis Koble who had made it while at Atari, but it never made it to market. I saw it when it was being tested.
