Well, having some connectivity problems again at DarkForce.

Working on narrowing down what the problem is (same problem

we had about 1-2 months ago that just disappeared).

Just telneting in from my laptop standing beside my Mega ST4,

you can watch the UD10 answer, then it just randomly D/Cs.

Apologies to everyone for the inconvenience!

Yeah... I've been having the same issue for awhile now.    Log in... random disconnect... usually before I even get to look at one or two new messages.

Part of why I haven't called in awhile.

Has someone had access to the OSS BBS in the golden age?

As in... the one run by OSS?

Great idea Doc!

That reminds me of something I was thinking about: A Win32 executable that would scrape some latest news headline sites and download the top articles as text. Have it save to a PCLINK: directory, and then an automated script could run on the Atari to pull the latest news onto the board.

Like my boss says... all things are possible.  It is just a question of the resources to be spent (manpower/infrastructure/etc) justifies the returns.

I'll get The Last Hope back online again soon! Power out rebooted the host, so I figured good to do a bit of cleanup before opening it up again...

Couple things I noticed with the list:

  • Title should be 2018?
  • A number of A8 BBS's are listed as PC - Alcatraz, Boot Factory, Part Time, The Basement

Good catch... changed the title... and changed the PC on JP's suggestion.

Let me know when you're ready to be listed and I'll get you on there.

I look forward to seeing the Last Hope back. Were you able to fix the connect issue where one had to send several (e.g., 25 to 30) carriage returns before connecting? Just curious... I suspect new users may not know to send several carriage returns before connecting.

As for the PC icon... That indicates an emulated system. Maybe a different icon like "EM" (or "E") would be more obvious.

I went ahead and made that change..... (Changing PC to EM).
