  1. Thought that you guys might enjoy this: Dean Swain is joined by Alex Crowley to discuss why the Vectrex is now a must own console. Plus, the ZX Spectrum Next prepares to ship to backers! http://traffic.libsyn.com/retroasylum/RA_218_The_Vectrex_v1.2.mp3
  2. This is it, our 200th Episode! Dean Swain and the rest of the current Retro Asylum team go in search of RA hosts of the past to celebrate 200 episodes of The UKs No.1 Retro Gaming Podcast. Join us in our longest ever episode, as we look back at the show and discuss how the UK retro scene has evolved since we began Retro Asylum back in 2011. http://traffic.libsyn.com/retroasylum/RA_Episode_200.mp3
  3. Here is a review of the Radpad for anyone interested:
  4. Well I think that's pretty much what mine displays. When I started this threadI thought that the title screen background should be green as it was what I had seen on YouTube. I never owned an Intellivision until recently.
  5. So after speaking to retromodding.de they seem to think that the UK Intellivision's did have a black title screen.
  6. Paul Davies & Dean Swain play one of the hottest consoles of the early 1980s that played host to a ton of quality arcade conversions, namely the CBS Colecovision A console that for its time had superb graphics & sound but fell victim of the American games crash of 1983. Plus, theres a round up of all of the latest retro gaming news and more answers revealed in the latest section of Ask RA. 7. Mads Kristensen and Chris ORegan take a retrospective look at the Discworld games from the mid 1990s and discuss point & click adventures in general. http://traffic.libsyn.com/retroasylum/discworld.mp3
  8. After a short break following our Revival 2017 specials, Dean Swain & Chris ORegan return to take a fascinating look back at Ataris much maligned range of 16 bit computers. The guys also discuss all of the latest news of the retro gaming scene including the reveal of Nintendos lost arcade game Sky Skipper and much much more! 9. Mmm. I don't suppose that there is anyone in the Essex area of the UK who can repair these are there? I'm hopeless with a soldering iron.
  10. Ok,so I've opened up the console, no shielding... http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah35/swainy75/68725CB4-6996-4D95-BBD8-33A0446507EE_zps4gk6mzhx.jpg I've not got a multimeter handy so I've had a play with the adjusters on the daughter board, I've managed to get the in game colours to what looks correct from what I can tell in Astrosmash and a couple of other games. http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah35/swainy75/27ADB44C-C4C3-497A-AF80-3FEBD5D4CE4E_zps3pvc4dne.jpg However the title pages are still red rather than green. http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah35/swainy75/695D33B2-E54B-4D98-84BE-9FE0C5650DB5_zpssusbgo0z.jpg So I'm not sure if the colours were different on European systems or if there is actually something wrong with it? Edit, just seen some PAL footage. It should be green.
  11. Thanks for the info! I haven't had a chance to open it up yet (I work nights ) but I'll have a look this afternoon.
  12. Hi all, I've kindly been given an Intellivision by a friend. However, the colours do not appear to be displaying correctly. http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah35/swainy75/4F86228D-7174-45E3-8750-25D5168BAF71_zpsfvg5466z.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah35/swainy75/5AC9CA8E-8330-404F-8B54-B851FA91CBA4_zpsryylfyle.jpg Any ideas as to what could be causing this?
