  1. Atarimax Flash Cart... Nice one. I've seen one of those. What else can it do for me? Are there other cart based games/progs or whatever that I could use with the cart? Huge thanks for the replies!
  2. Is the above even possible on a stock 65XE? I wanted to be a little more detailed in my approach to this question because I didn't want to just literally ask 'the question'... Is it technically possible to do it? How would I go about doing it? Even if it was something silly like a file per level or something I would be prepared to do it... This is really starting to go into 'facepalm' city with a no return ticket.... Please slap/comment accordingly. I just want to play the game 'legit' so to speak.... You know? If the above is just stupid then what its the best way to do it? Cartridge? Extra memory? Many thanks!
  3. I apologise for the massive delay in replying to this... I wanted to extend my gratitude and huge thanks as your advice gave me back my colour to my 2600jr. At least I think I did what you said.... Just really bizarre... So heres the thing. When I got my 2600jr it was basically worked(colour etc) but the quality of the picture was poor (colour bleed, signal distortion, fuzzy sound) but I put that down to running it through RF.... Anyways since I fiddled around with the RF bit and this colour pot type stuff. Its basically better than ever!! No colour bleed or whatever... Just very bizarre. Basically my games look much better. Plus some of the colours in certain games are a slightly different shade or whatever *shrugs* so basically I am just so stoked and chuffed! Huge thanks and I really appreciate it!
  4. Silly question: Can I affect the 'pot' whilst the 2600jr is on? That is to say can I adjust whilst its on screen and powered up. And what exactly would I adjust? Apologies I know its a facepalm situation here but I am not exactly sure what I am doing so once again apologies. Huge thanks!
  5. Hey. I appreciate that there are similar problems like this on the forums but I think this issue is pretty unique. We shall see... So my 2600jr was working fine up until a few moments ago. In truth I hadn't played on it for over a week and I come to play on it today. Basically the picture is as normal, just B&W. No interference or anything like that. Sound is very good. I have done nothing to the 2600jr at all and I am using the same TV which allows me to display NTSC (Useful for Harmony stuff...) and all that good stuff. I have tried retuning/different TV's(Modern/CRT) and all do the same thing. Tried different RF cable. All same thing. Checked the Color/BW slider and that seemed ok. Nothing had changed. So I don't get it... *shrugs* Just to clarify: The picture is as it should be, just black and white. Its a PAL 2600jr so I have tried PAL carts. PAL games in Harmony. All do the same thing... Just display in B&W... Any guidance or help would be appreciated. Huge thanks!
  6. I would definitely describe myself as a noob in this area. I have a 65XE PAL. I am lucky to have an SIO2SD interface. I am curious if there any good RPG's or games with depth(hidden or otherwise) that I can play. I am curious about obscure games perhaps as I have a good knowledge of most of the 'classic' titles such as Star Raiders and all that... Appreciate the help!!
  7. I am wondering if there are file managers/explorer-type programs for TOS. I am find the 'copy/paste drag/drop' thing annoying now and I am curious if there is a faster/better way?? If its required then FYI I have the Satandisk/1MB RAM/TOS 1.06(Not sure 100% but think its that...)... I don't quite know exactly what I am looking for if I am honest but something like DOpus on Amiga or similar would be a massive bonus/help. Much appreciation. Kind thanks!
  8. I would be very interested in anything 'Flash Cart' related for the Jaguar. I was very close to owning a Skunkboard and unfortunately was beaten to the post at literally the last second. I was gutted to say the least... For me personally I would like to explore the possibility of 'commercial' games but for me, the ability to play ANYTHING Jaguar would be fantastic. Are there any solutions in the pipe or available now, however expensive, for me to explore. My Jaguar is something I like a lot but alas I have literally four games... IMO its not enough. I would like more. Games round my neck of the woods are just way too expensive for what they represent. They are the same price as when they were new back in the day. I cannot justify that price for one game... I am a PAL kinda dude... :-) I appreciate its a really touchy subject talking about commercial games and such. For me personally I just wanna play more Jag games... :-)
  9. Bump! I figured i'd keep the forums a little more free of the same type of topic... :-) Just curious: I live in the UK and I have a 'PAL I' 7800. I am struggling to find a UK PSU for the 7800. I notice on ebay that Atari Guide have a shop with US PSU's... I have a step down which works well for other US/Japanese plugs and was wondering if I could get one of the US PSU's and use that on my PAL 7800??
  10. The above zipped content is received and greatly appreciated!! Thank you muchly!! So I don't fall into the trap of asking similar questions. How do I make/generate the files necessary to do 'Dual Sided' track writing in the future?? So ParanoidLittleMan: You obviously generated those files from the 'One Disk' Super Skweek. How did you do this? Is there a program on the PC side or something? This is amazing stuff! Hugely appreciative. Happy gaming days and also a happy girlfriend(Super Skweek is my GF's favourite)... What more could a man ask for?? Many thanks as usual guys!
  11. Huge thanks!! A tiny... (Possibly) little issue here... I am wanting to write to floppy the MSA for Super Skweek. Unfortunately its too big an image for the floppy...?? I am using MSA 2.32 from WAZ Software. I have tried the 'Format Disk' option. I have tried using a pre-formatted ST disk. Whats the best way to get Super Skweek onto a floppy via MSA??? Apologies, as I am guessing this is no doubt straightforward but the solution alludes me... I could not find an HDD version of Super Skweek either on my travels through Google. Is there one available or could I possibly make a HDD version via the MSA/ST image as that would be equally good? Could I use Steem and take the stuff/files off the floppy and drop them onto the HDD(As I can use the SD card in Steem too)?? Many thanks! EDIT: Tried copy/pasting the contents of the disk image to the HDD using Steem and play the game that way. Not working unfortunately... So thats out... Basically a black screen/freeze... EDIT2: Tried using a Floppy Disk Image Runner program for the ST and it recognised the image and tried to run it but the same error as first EDIT. Really stuck here...... For clarity I am using a 'one disk' version of Super Skweek...
  12. Ok so I just wanted to extend my gratitude to every and all who have commented and help me take off the 'noob necklace' I had around my neck. Its been a massive help and its been greatly rewarding. I have received the Satandisk and have managed to get my head around the whole partition/image thing. Basically I just used a 1GB image that was floating around and wrote that to the SD card. This saved me a lot of trouble. Afterwhich I have then removed the 2MB HDD games and such because... Well I don't have 2MB basically... And I have used a tool on the ST side which converts MSA to floppy disk and also I have an 'ST disk image to MSA' converter tool on the PC side. Apologies for not knowing specific names. I am typing this on the fly so forgive my lack of immediate knowledge. Basically guys I have a very special ST with HDD games and the ability to write to floppies without too much hardship on my part. This is truly a special time for me and once again I just wanted to say a huge mega thanks to everyone who has replied. Me and my ST are pretty much happy. I am discovering so much about the ST which, in my opinion, seems to have the Amiga licked... So to speak... I love the Amiga and always will but I am just so surprised at what the ST can do. And I find it quite appealing and exciting to discover new things! Happy days, as they say...
  13. I have a stock 65XE and SIO2SD and have been reading this thread with interest. Is there any other way of booting Space Harrier via file conversion or similar without the need for the cart? Is it just a silly notion or is there something that can be done with the file to make it work/boot directly from the SIO2SD... Is it just wishful thinking on my part.....????? (Everyone shouts: YES YOU FOOL....!! lol) With regards to the flashcart... Any docs/faq? Would the flash program for Space Harrier save me having to even bother with the USB-whatevers?? Just plug the cart in and flash via Atari and away I go?? I'll pay for it if it gives me fast results... :-)
  14. I really appreciate the help... Sorry to be noobish on this one guys... Really appreciate the kind help... Writing the IMG file to the SD is a straightforward process I would presume? I am assuming all details are supplied....?
  15. That would be splendid... Ok ok.... So MSA... Can ST images be made to MSA images with a transfer tool of some description???? Does it really matter?????
