  1. I figured it out. If anyone stumbles across this in the future. You need the WAV file of the BASIC program. Select the bin for BASIC version you want to use and press the utility menu (4). "Set as BASIC"... then when you try to load a WAV, BASIC will boot. Load as if you were loading a tape. If you do not have the overlay, press . (that is, press period the screen will change color), press + (a colon will appear on screen), press = (screen will change color), press 2 (the word INPUT will appear on screen), then press C. If you have the right version of BASIC, the WAV should load.
  2. Thanks for the offer! I'm going to try some of the "straightening" methods in that linked thread and see you they work. My coil seems unusually tight. I may be content with just a less tight coil.
  3. I want to play some AstroBASIC games on my BackBit Pro. I know the UltiMulti has some. Is there a way to boot Castle of Horror directly from my Back Bit Pro?
  4. I see. My idea is to have a straight cord on my original INTV model 1. I feel like there could be a cable replacement kit / plan / instruction set... Every solution I find seems to call for buying an INTV 2 or Flashback.
  5. Could you make a simple (straight) cord replacement? I want to keep the original cord but lose short the coil. Does this product yet exist?
  6. Ah, I meant to write programmers. They look very similar.
  7. The box art and screenshot previews look so similar to Circus Convoy that I am confused. I know the developers are different, but is it related somehow to the narrative of Circus Convoy?
  8. I was wrong. I just played it again. That first scorpian just keeps walkin', but Pitfall II does have this visual. I just seem to recall it in Pitfall! too. Must be my faulty memory. Well, having it come straight from Pitfall Harry it pretty convincing. Thanks!
  9. I've considered that as well. I actually have all the versions now and tested them to be sure. I only had the 2600 version at the time I am thinking.
  10. Hello, friend. I considered that. Pitfall II does not. The scorpian actually does not track Harry at all in that game. The visual effect I am talking about is when Harry is above ground and the scorpian is directly below him.
  11. I would like to keep some systems in the original form (without AV mods). I want thoughts on the best coaxial cables for older game consoles. RG-6? RG-11? I figure the shorter the better, but I am not sure what else I should be looking for.
  12. In the 80s, I recall Pitfall! (NTSC) having an unusual visual: when standing directly below Harry, the scorpian would alternate between the left facing and right facing characters rapidly, creating a flickering (mirrored) effect. I have not been able to reproduce this. Now, the scorpian simply freezes in place until Harry moves again. Could it have been the TV? A different ROM version? I attempted to recreate the effect with a switch box on an older television. Does anyone else remember this visual effect?
  13. Is a quiet POKEY due to the 7800 having a composite mod? I'm having the same problem.
  14. Gaming historians, are there any segregationists' arguments for discussing consoles and home computers apart from one another? For example, (if one subscribes to the idea of console generations) it seems the C64 and VIC 20 are essential in discussing the 2nd Generation. Reading some wiki on the subject always seems incomplete. It also feels weird to discuss the Atari XE with the 3rd Generation, ignoring the computer roots. There are even different sections in this forum for the two. I honestly want to know if there is a reason for this I may be overlooking.
