  1. Best games = Frostbite, River Raid, Qbert, Frogger, Warlords, Dodg'Em and loads more. Those are the games me and the wife are addicted to at the present. Worst = Not really found anything so bad so far. Only got 50 or so games so far and like the. all for what they are. Mousetrap is pretty bad but playable.
  2. Do your boxes have a picture of a little chess piece on it? Those were the ACTUAL heavy sixer boxes Ah. No mine doesn't have the chess piece on it. Same picture though. I always thought it odd that they have the old Heavy Sixer image on a box for the Light Sixer. Cheaper not to reprint/change artwork for Atari I guess. A tad bit of false advertising though. It's a case of not what it says on the tin!
  3. Are you sure that's not what came in the box? Mine is exactly the same. Heavy Sixer image with a Light Sixer inside. The serial numbers on the box, inside cardboard inserts and console all match.
  4. Holy Sh*te! At that speed it looks lie it doesn't matter where you land as long as it's in the vicinity of the ice. If it's just down to skill, that is awesome. My eyes will never be that accurate!
  5. Not my highest to date but the highest since I've seen this thread. I've had 318000 before which is my target to beat, personally.
  6. My cousin used to play Smurf all the time as a little girl. I would suggest Smurf, Frostbite, Keystone Kapers
  7. *UPDATE* Atari is still working great. Me and the wife have "Atari Night" regular. I got a new NOS power supply and have now bumped the game collection up to 34 with the latest additions of Solar Fox, Breakout, Super Breakout, Asteroids, Smurf and Keystone Kapers. My childhood is being relived and the wife is experiencing something she never had as a child.
  8. I had a similar thing recently with a Light 6er. Could get some games to work but not others that worked fine on other machines. I don't know whether the CPU chip was getting hot or not but when I replaced it the machine worked fine. Still going strong a couple of weeks later with plenty of use. I'd try replacing the CPU chip first.
  9. Thank you. I will have fun. Got a load of games already and looking forward to starting a big collection. I've even got the wife in on it. She never had an Atari while growing up, and now she's loving all the games I keep bringing in. Me and my brothers had a Jnr to share when we kids but I always liked the look of the older style, woodgrain models. Only took me 26 odd year to get one. Just to be able to play River Raid, Q-Bert, and Frostbite again is great enough but I'm slowly discovering more great games I missed while young.
  10. From what I've read, the original Ingersoll power supplies with the Atari in the late 70's/ealy 80's UK were notoriously.....Shite! One that says Atari on will do me fine
  11. Yeah. I know it's not a socket problem as I have another official Atari power supply from the Vader which works fine with this machine. The one that came with it is the original Ingersoll (UK Supply) It has a bit of a rattle to it although the cable seems fine. It kind of gets power surges through it and make the screen go funny, strange vertical lines and loud crackles of sound. If I wiggle it it's fine but for the sake of £10 I've ordered a new. I have a spare socket/board for future now so it's not a problem.
  12. Maybe one day. For now, it's working as it should and I'm happy with it, apart from the power adapter is a little tempermental, more mental than temper though. I'll have a brand new NOS coming in a day or two so that's fine. This is to show the grandchildren and show them where it all started.....for me anyway
  13. It has to be Frostbite! It's the best game ever on Atari 2600
  14. Or set it up in the toilet and sit down ready to start...... Gutted I wont be able to witness this. I'm at my best mates wedding doing the best man thing. Good luck!
