In Topic: Extra Terrestrials Game FOUND! (5th copy)

Yes supposedly from what I heard one person many years back claimed like Tim Atwood who found all those sealed stadium events that he found a box full of CIB Air Raid (17 of them). Although no confirmation or evidence was provided suddenly the same year 4-5 copies of the game sold online and in private auctions. The price of the game became very debatable and dropped dramatically because of this

I have only seen a couple cib air raids sell on ebay in the past 10 years so if new in box were found one would have surfaced by now.

I'm sure a sealed box or two of stadium events have been found its not that rare but sells for 20 to 40k range because the hoard of Nintendo collectors, they need a holy grail too even though there's probably a couple hundred copies.

Thank you Rom Hunter! Yes I believe it's in the top 3 rarest Atari 2600 games for sure. I can say it's either this or Birthday Mania on the #1 list along with red sea crossing and gamma attack going for second and third. I suppose Extra Terrestrials is the rarest in my opinion as no copies were ever sold before or advertised and also because of the unorthodox way of selling them door to door. Birthday mania is also very scarce as well but was advertised on local news papers back in the day and about 300 copies were apparently made with currently two collectors who are in possession of a copy today. Other rare games like Gamma attack are unpredictable because the producer never came out and not much information released, so at anytime it's possible for a bunker to be found somewhere in someone's basement with multiple copies just like Air Raid (17 boxed copies were found). Extra Terrestrials and Birthday Mania are verified that only a hundred or so copies were ever made in the beginning so they are the rarest for sure

Congrats on the find. I didn't know 17 boxed air raids were found if so I want one.

I have never collected the atari computer stuff, I got super into the c64 and Amiga after the console systems. But it's neat too see this stuff. I didn't know first star ever used that odd box for other games so that is cool to see!

Well you better get going lol, do you have another room full of c64 and amiga games? I'm really impressed with your collection reflecting the history of video games.
