I am still playing MH3 wii version lol. Sure the WiiU version will be epic with everything they added and the upgraded graphics look very sweet.

@onlysublime, I am guessing that is where some of that cash went but like you would love to know. Retro Studios currently has enough employees for 2 IP's and pretty sure one of those is for the 3DS remake of DK. Platinum is making Bayonetta 2 and the Wonderful 101 both of which Nintendo is funding. My guess is they have a ton of cash invested in IP's both internally and externally along with multiple titles that are unknown or just rumored like valhalla game studios. Not 5 Billion worth but would not be a shock to know they invested a cool billiion in just games.

The only WiiU's that was hard to come buy after release was the 32Gb version and that was only for 2 weeks locally. Take a shot as to why Nintendo has went through so much cash is possibly advertising (where?) and getting games made for or with WiiU features included. While it is safe to assume third parties are reluctant to release games for a new console but a little cash goes along way in getting publishers motivated.

Sorry Dirt 2013 was cancelled and I failed to remove it from the list. Would love to see old HD ports of Zelda, and Metroid but what would have been best imo is having Gamecube on the Virtual Console. Still dont understand why they have not done this ? Why no Dreamcast ? My guess is nintendo will show more 3rd party stuff in a upcoming Nintendo Direct but who knows when that will be. To be honest the only current release that is not coming to Wii U that I would like to see is Tomb Raider.

@Atariboy Agree with everything you wrote. I do not expect Wii U to repeat Wii's console sales but have no reason to doubt 7-8 million consoles a year a reality ? Side note I felt the Gamecube and Wii had excellent third part support but nobody bought the games and that is partially Nintendo's fault. Everyone will buy Mario or Zelda but they (nintendo) have needed to do a better job at promoting third party games on their console for sometime now. Wii U is selling at a loss currently which is why I dont see them cutting the price. They may do that this summer or fall considering the attach rate is around 3 games per system sold which of course makes the system profitable. So we should use a Kickstarter funded game to judge the success or failure of a system ? Makes since to me yes I remember Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, PGR 3 which is fantastic still to this day. But you seem to forget the other games that were built off of PS2 engines ? Gun, King Kong,Madden 06 (awful) Need for Speed MW, RR 6 etc. The 360 launch lineup actually looks very poor in comparison to the Wii U, AC3, Blops 2, Ninja Gaiden, Zombie U, Darksiders etc.

So what would you suppose we use to measure success or failure ? The number of articles wrote in the past month with the words Nintendo & Doomed together ? Personally had no issue buying my launch 80GB PS3 and by then was on my 2nd (RROD) 360 . Matter of fact the only time I can remember having a hard time finding any launch system was the DOOMED Wii . But honestly will be glad when these articles are over and done, sure they will stop once the doomed PS/Xbox release with less than Wii like sales numbers. No price drop coming.. wont need it because the base model WiiU will be a minimum 100 bones cheaper than next PS/XBOX, play used games, backwards compatible with Wii, free online, does not require online connection to play and then you add Nintendo IP's (Mario,Zelda) will be landing just as the new systems are released.

The only complaint I have is the delay when switching screens and believe they will fix that with a patch this spring or summer.

Nothing to worry about. The games first and third party are coming. Has everyone forgotten how awful the launch lineup for PS3/360 was ?
