  1. Household playtimes. My son and one of his friends fiddled around a little with my console. Atari 2600 Enduro: 12 min Frogger: 5 min Jungle Hunt: 10 min Moon Patrol: 8 min
  2. Atari VCS: Jungle Hunt - 15 min Just one quick fix for myself and for the 2600 HSC.
  3. As I said - it's simplified. It sure ain't no Zelda. Worth the money for the digital download to me. The full box - maybe not. It depends on how much you like the elaborate boxes, goodies/feelies and manual for your shelf.
  4. Before I forget to post, I'll just do it right in the middle of the week... NES: Super Mario Bros.: 25 min Tetris:10 min Both with my 6-year-old. C64: The Isle of the Cursed Prophet: 350 min An interesting new game from 2020, published by Psytronic. Sort of a simplified Zelda-ish action adventure game/fetch quest with a dark theme and nice cutscenes at the beginning and at the ending. Very beautiful, elaborate manual with map included - which I recommend you use a lot to write notes onto if you play it. Some fun "translate the sectre code" puzzles to solve in the manual for hints. All in all I had fun. It ain't no rocket science to beat it, it can get redundant, but the presentation, controls etc. are good. I bought the digital version and played it in VICE. Definetly not a waste of money.
  5. Atari 2600 Frogger: 30 min Father and son playtime combined. Kid's getting better at it :-).
  6. NES Duck Tales: 20 min. I know it's a classic. But it's not my game, really. I find the controls are hard to get used to. Guess that's just me and my weird wiring in my brain.
  7. NES: Kirby's Adventure: 15 min Super Mario Bros: 10 min "Household" playtimes, i.e. my son and I just messing around a little.
  8. Berzerk 9BB: 7,220 Yeah, it's me. It's been a while. But since recently, we slightly refurnished our "new" living room, I had room for a CRT TV and two consoles. Also, my 6-year-old enjoys some old-school videogaming with dad in the current lockdown. With the wife's blessing even. What has the world come to...? Anyway, it's a win-win situation, I'd say. Expect me to chime in here every now and then. I doubt I will be able to play regularly, though. Time is a very very precious resource for me these days. We'll see. Still, it's great to be back - sort of.
  9. Atari 2600: Bump 'n Jump: 5 min Frogger: 4 min Moon Patrol: 40 min Pac Man: 8 min Sky Diver: 50 min NES: Kabuki Quantum Fighter: 10 min Super Mario Bros: 15 min Tiger Heli: 7 min Well, guess who has consoles back on line? After some refurnishing of our "new" living room, there is finally room for the old TV and two consoles. My son and I played around with then. As you can see from the play times, he really likes Sky Diver and Moon Patrol.
  10. They are European indeed. Mr. Do is the Euro international version, the other one is German. Which is great, because I am German, and the Package came from the US. Likely not all that easy to find over there. As far as I can tell, it is easier to find US games here in Europe than vice versa - because NTSC games usually just work here (with different colours), while a PAL game in a US system won't work that easily. So US imports are more common here. So... great work, Santa! Much appreciated.
  11. Well, well... There's only one thing redder (more red?) than Santa's coat - red tape! Turns out my Secret Santa package was held captive in customs, and I only got notified on Jan 3. Boy, was it worth the wait! - A letter and a half from Santa (not shown on picture) - Two vintage Atari VCS carts - An Activision patch - A very well made brand-new 6-button Genesis/Mega Drive controller - A Zelda soundtrack CD (not shown on picture) - A special treat hidden in the CD sleeve (also not shown on picture) - A brand new Lady Bug cart with manual and all the usual AtariAge treats!!! I am exceptionally happy with this bundle of gifts. Santa has put a lot of thought (and a considerable amount of cash) into this. Thank you so much, Santa! You gave me a great start into the year 2020. Very much appreciated! It was a bit on the edge, by the way. I had to open the whole package at the custom's office, and the clerk was slightly suspicious (because of the included hidden special treat) and started googling ebay prices for some items. I managed to evade paying taxes by handing him the Quelle cart as a reference, and he extrapolated the value of the rest from there - including the AtariAge homebrew ;-). Sometimes it's a good thing that not many people are into this hobby. The anoying bit was that I kindly asked him to hum "Jingle Bells" for me while I unpacked the gifts - and he refused! So rude!
  12. Mine's not arrived yet, but I'm sure it will soon.
